Think of an ITA bag as a wearable canvas. It goes beyond simply holding your daily essentials and becomes a dedicated space to celebrate your favourite interests. Rooted in Japanese street fashion, these bags feature a clear display window. This lets you safely show off enamel pins, keychains, plushies, or fan art without worrying about them getting scratched or lost. The name comes from the Japanese word itai (痛い), meaning "painful". It's a playful nod to showing your passion so loudly and proudly it almost hurts. For artists, it feels like wearing your sketchbook on your sleeve. For collectors, it is the perfect way to build a portable tribute to your favourite characters, stories, and aesthetics. ITA bags turn your everyday carry into a creative statement and let you share your completely authentic self wherever you go.
Please do not put your ITA Bag in the washing machine or dryer. Because of the clear display windows and metal clasps, machine washing can damage the materials. Instead, we recommend simple spot cleaning with a soft, damp cloth and a little bit of mild soap, using cold water only.
One-Year Warranty. We stand strongly behind the quality of our bags. Every bag from this campaign comes with a full one-year warranty. If your reward arrives damaged from transit or has any manufacturing defects, please email us right away at [email protected] and we will arrange a replacement for you. Refunds. Once the campaign ends and funds have been collected, we are generally unable to offer refunds. We use the exact funds collected to pay our manufacturers and begin making your bags. Please remember that your initial pledge only covers the bags themselves. Shipping costs will be calculated and collected later during the survey phase. Returns. BackerKit is a platform to help bring new ideas to life, rather than a traditional retail store. Because the items we ship are considered rewards for your support in making this project possible, we cannot accept standard change-of-mind returns. This applies to your bag, accessories, and freebie selections, so please take your time when making your choices in the BackerKit survey.
Yes, we ship worldwide. We partner with FedEx and Quantium Solutions for international delivery, with the final leg often handed off to trusted national postal carriers like Royal Mail, Canada Post, Deutsche Post, and DHL. Every shipment is fully tracked and insured.
We are aiming to send out most rewards by mid-September 2026. Australia For our local backers, we ship with Australia Post, FedEx, or TNT. Most shipments to metro areas arrive within 2 to 4 business days. Rural areas sometimes take just a little longer. We ship directly from Alexandria, NSW 2015, so you can use this postcode to estimate your exact transit time. United States We ship via FedEx International Connect Plus. This express service usually delivers from Australia to the US within 2 to 5 business days. We ship these parcels as DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning they are pre-cleared through customs for a seamless delivery. Rest of the World Orders typically arrive within 3 to 10 business days for most international destinations. Transit times are unfortunately out of our hands once the bags are underway. We recommend checking with your national postal carrier to see how long packages from Australia usually take to arrive in your area.
We want your new bag to arrive in absolute perfect condition. Because all of our shipments are fully insured, you are completely covered if anything goes wrong in transit. If your order arrives damaged, please take detailed photos of the outside packaging, the inside packaging, and the damaged item itself. Email those photos to us right away at [email protected]. We will get a replacement shipped out to you immediately at no extra cost, and we will handle all the hassle of the insurance claim on our end.
Yes, you absolutely can. We do not collect your final shipping information until we send out the reward survey after the campaign ends. If you need to change your address after you have already submitted that survey, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We can easily update your details as long as your reward has not shipped yet.
No. Your BackerKit pledge only covers your reward. We will collect shipping costs (and customs duties for US backers) later when you complete your BackerKit survey and confirm your final address. We've included realistic shipping estimates on the campaign page. Just keep in mind that final shipping fees might fluctuate slightly by the time surveys go out, as carriers like FedEx frequently update their base rates and fuel surcharges.
Australia Since we are based in Australia, GST is already included in your pledge. Because we are shipping domestically, you will not have to worry about any customs duties. United States All duties and taxes will be included in your final shipping cost, which is collected during the reward survey. We calculate all applicable US Customs Duties upfront. This allows us to send your rewards via FedEx International Connect Plus as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), meaning your reward clears customs smoothly with no surprise fees at your door. Rest of the World No. Your pledge and the shipping fee collected during the survey only cover the reward and the postage. We send all other international orders as Delivered at Place (DAP). This means you are responsible for any additional customs charges or taxes your home country might require upon entry. Many countries have duty-free thresholds for parcels from Australia, so we highly recommend checking with your local customs authority to see if any fees apply to your shipment.
First off, you can rest easy knowing that every single shipment is fully tracked and insured. Rest of the World We partner with FedEx and Quantium Solutions to handle the international leg of the journey. Once the package arrives in your country, they hand it over to your local national postal service for final delivery. This means trusted local carriers like Royal Mail, Canada Post, DHL, or Deutsche Post will be the ones bringing it to your doorstep.
You can change your shipping country through the BackerKit survey before fulfilment begins. Just keep in mind that shipping costs and any applicable customs duties or taxes are calculated based on the destination country, so changing countries may mean a different shipping fee or new customs charges on arrival. If you change countries after paying your shipping fee, we may need to collect an adjustment. Once your reward has been dispatched, we are unable to redirect it to a different country.
Right now, BackerKit only allows you to select one main reward tier per account. However, you can easily customize your pledge by including extra items in the add-ons section during checkout. You will still have plenty of chances to customize your setup. All of our accessory and freebie items will be available as add-ons, both during the campaign checkout and later on in the final reward survey at a special discounted price.
You do not need to make any design choices right now. Once the campaign wraps up, we will send you a detailed reward survey. This is where you can select the exact pins and charms you want included with your bag. We will also use this survey to collect your final shipping address and contact details so we know exactly where to send your rewards.
We will be using BackerKit's Pledge Manager. You will be able to e.g. confirm your final shipping address, select freebies (if your reward has them included), optionally purchase more add-ons, and complete the final payment for your shipping cost. Once our campaign finishes, we will be setting up the rewards survey in BackerKit. You will receive an email from BackerKit (not from us, so check your inbox carefully) once your survey is ready to be filled out. A note for backers who choose Pledge Over Time: BackerKit will automatically send a survey invitation to you once BackerKit marked your payment as fully completed.
Don't stress. Your survey will stay open for a long time, so there is no rush to complete it. If you run into any issues during the survey, whether it is a tech glitch, a question about your selections, or a payment problem, just email us at [email protected] and we will sort it out with you. One thing to keep in mind: while there is no hard deadline, we do recommend completing your survey sooner rather than later. Some freebie designs are produced in limited quantities, and if you fill out your survey late, your first-choice options may be low in stock or sold out by then.
Most of them, yes. We plan our freebie production carefully based on backer numbers so that everyone gets something they love. However, some of our pin, charm, and air freshener designs are produced in limited quantities and can sell out over time, especially if they are popular. Here is how to give yourself the best chance of getting your top picks: - Fill out your BackerKit survey early. Selections are made on a first-come, first-served basis. - Have a backup choice in mind. If your first pick is out of stock, it helps to know your second favourite. - Watch for campaign updates. We will let backers know if any designs are running low so you can plan accordingly. If a freebie design you selected sells out before we can fulfil your order, we will reach out to you directly to arrange a replacement of equal value.
We understand that life happens, so please read this one carefully before you pledge. Your BackerKit pledge covers the cost of producing your reward. Shipping is charged separately during your BackerKit survey, once the campaign has ended and manufacturing has begun. We call this out clearly throughout our campaign page, so please make sure you have factored shipping into your budget before backing. If you do not pay your shipping fee during the survey window, we will not be able to send your reward. Unfortunately we cannot refund your original pledge in this situation, because those funds have already been used to manufacture your bag. This is a standard part of how most crowdfunding campaigns work and something every backer agrees to when they pledge. We are real humans running a small business, and while we cannot guarantee a specific outcome, we will always try to find a fair way forward together.
Absolutely. We have already hands-on tested the prototypes for every bag featured in this campaign. In fact, the bags you see in all the photos on our page are those exact pre-production samples. We want to be completely transparent so you know exactly what you are backing.
We have over a decade of experience designing, creating, and testing bags. Every new product we make builds on that solid foundation. Each prototype we receive is carefully put through its paces to test for strength, durability, and overall manufacturing quality. Since our new 15" ITA Frame Backpack is designed for daily use and busy conventions, we paid extra attention to testing its weight capacity and toughness. The photos you see on this page feature our actual working prototypes, giving you a true look and feel of the design. While the final bags will be incredibly close to what you see here, we may make a few minor adjustments during final manufacturing just to ensure the absolute best quality for you.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.

- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
