Tarot Decks are State-Side! [HHW: Missing America]

But I did want to put out an update today to let you all know that the US orders are on US shores!
They arrive 3 days late, on the 2nd instead of the 30th of August, but they are here now.
Because of... all that's going on in the states, we are very likely to undergo security testing and clearance nonsense. It is congested at the ports, so it is likely that we will take a week or more to get out of there. This is all the information I have at the moment, but I wanted to celebrate that we have the decks state-side!
I will share a new update as soon as the decks are at our warehouses in the states and heading out to you from there. Please of course note that this is for US and Canadian orders. All other countries had their packages already heading to them, and should expect to see the packages any time now in the next few weeks.

Shipment Update (Cargo Ship on the Move!) | Updated FAQ [HHW Missing America]
First, please always check updates for the latest info. I know that for many of you, your Backerkit survey/pledge manager is telling you that your order Shipped. But that just means I handed it to the fulfillment center. Your order actually got moving into the mail when I said so in the updates.
Second, we still have 3 people who have not done their surveys, and 6 people who have not gotten their errored cards fixed. Anyone who gets things fixed from here on, or a survey in, will be getting their order in the remaining 2nd wave of shipments at a later date.

US & Canada
We are on the way! Our US + Canadian orders (along with most extra tarot items) got on their cargo ship and departed China on the 7th.
The shipping container will arrive in the US around August 30th. Then it takes a few days to get the container off the ship, another couple days for it to forward the pallets to the warehouse, then shipping goes directly into USPS. This means packages arrive to people in the US roughly September 8th-20th, and up to Canada between September 12th-25th or so.

International Backers
Direct estimate from my fulfillment team is that you should be seeing tracking between August 28th-September 5th for specifically Europe and Australia. Packages have been in transit either by plane or boat or truck for a couple weeks now. I'm taking that to mean that Asian packages will be arriving earlier since it's coming from China, but that was not explicitly said to me.
I am estimating Rest of World packages to arrive anytime mid-August to mid-September.

FAQ
- Will I Get Tracking?
- Yes. It will automatically be sent to you by email, typically when it arrives to your home country and is scanned by mail carriers there for the first time.
- I don't know if I did my survey or if mine is in the packages that are fulfilling. How do I know?
- Log into Backerkit and check your survey for this project. If it's marked as Fulfilled, it is in the shipment wave heading out now. Unsure how to find your survey? Check this link:

- I missed doing my survey in time to be in the "First Wave" of packages. How long will I have to wait for the "Second Wave" of shipments?
- Not long at all. We are sending most of the extra printed decks/items to the US with the US orders. So once first wave goes out, I will send out the "Second Wave" as I see people get things in up to the end of the deadline.
- My Order is labeled with a note that says "Consolidated" but I have a $10-40+ credit. What's that?
- Because of how tax/VAT/GST are added to orders on Backerkit, even consolidated orders were tagged with taxes and fees. To make sure we didn't charge you those (since they will instead be charged on your consolidated order on another project), we just gave a blanket $50 credit to anyone whose orders were consolidated. You don't actually have extra money to get paid back, we just did that to avoid accidentally charging you more.
- Who do I contact to ask about my failed charges or survey problems?
- Me or Backerkit support. You can reach me at [email protected].
- Who do I contact if I never get tracking or if I need to check in on missing or damaged items in my order?

- I am officially setting these timers to start September 1st.
- Once US & Canadian orders hit US shores, the timer will begin for people who have not gotten their surveys done or shipping paid for. This will be a 30 day final chance for people to get their surveys in or shipping handled. If the 30 days passes (October 1st) and anyone has not gotten their survey in, their order will be cancelled, and their pledge will be considered a donation to the campaign's success. This was shared in the project's Terms and Conditions since launch day of the project.
- Similarly, everyone who did have their orders shipped will have 45 days (October 16th) from when it is marked as having arrived to contact New Titan Print about any missing items or shipments with your order. If we surpass that deadline, we will no longer handle any missing or damaged shipments, or missing items from shipments. So please open your package right when it arrives to check the contents, and when you receive your tracking number by email, be sure to give it a look. Thank you.
Lastly, The Goblin's Tarot will continue through. September 15th it will finally launch, after more than a year of the art all being ready to go. This is the last original deck I have planned to publish for some time. It is a standard, 78-card deck-- the only of its kind to be published by Publishing Goblin so far!

I was holding it until the current tarots were shipped, and when I picked September 15th, we'd expected the HHW + Misery Tarots to be shipped before September even began. Now, I'm accepting that the tarots will be arriving just before or just as it launches, and the oracle dice will be shipping out to people while it's live.

HHW Tarot: Missing America Project | Heading Out & FAQ
Hey folks, so we are a bit delayed here. I am disappointed to share that. I have been given no information on why, but the good news is that we are here now.
I requested news from our shipper a few times here over the last two weeks, but have just gotten a reply.

US & Canada
We are on the way. All the US + Canadian orders are with a forwarding shipper right now who are getting them onto a shipping container. I will be informed when they are on a ship, so I can let you know when the 24 day journey begins, but ideally it should be any day now. 28 days ago, I said that we should be seeing US + Canada orders arriving between August 11-30th. Assuming the longest we wait to get on a boat is 7 days, I am pushing back our expected arrival to:

International backer orders have been packed and forwarded to handlers who are taking them out abroad as well, this time without a big sea journey, instead traveling through the networks of the various carriers that get the mail to you in your home country.
This means that some of you may be seeing tracking any day now, while I imagine most will only get the automated email for tracking when it hits your home country and updates there. That has been the predominate case in our past experience.
My estimate is going to shift here for you guys as well. I am estimating anytime mid-August to mid-September.

Why the Delays?
This time around I can't be 100% certain. I made a mistake that could be the reason, but I haven't been told that this is the reason. Still, for posterity, I failed to order the correct number of extra Black Lantern Oracle Dice sets. I was nearly 125 short because when I put in the order with the oracle dice manufacturer, I did not count the number that was ordered on their own in the Misery Tarot, just the ones needed for the Deluxe Misery Tarot sets + on their own in the oracle dice project. We got those made and sent over at the start of July.
We should have had enough to cover backer orders though, but it's possible that they sealed all 500 dice sets in the deluxe Misery Tarot sets then were short on the backer orders. Since nearly 200 of the deluxe sets are extras (not backed for,) I thought we would still be okay to cover orders and fill those deluxe sets later. I'm going to assume this was the delay, but then I'm not sure why we aren't on a cargo container already even if that was the delay. It's hard to say, so let's keep on moving I suppose.

HHW Tarot: Missing America | Orders Sent to Fulfillment!!
It's finally the day.
I have submit nearly every order from this project to be fulfilled. In fact, there are:
9 people who have not submit their surveys, and...
13 people whose cards have errored out and need to be looked at, replaced, or cleared with their bank.
The other 437 folks on this project have had their orders either merged down into the other projects to be fulfilled (350), or have had their order send to the fulfillment team directly (87).

What Happens Now?
The orders will now be packed over the next week or two.
US & Canada
Then, US and Canadian orders will go into a shipping container to travel the high seas over to America. That will take approximately 24 days. It will make port, take a couple days to clear, then go on a truck to our warehouse, and from the warehouse, all packages will go straight into USPS to get to backers.
At that time (entering USPS), you will all get emails that your orders are on the way to you with tracking numbers!
This process will take about 40-45 days starting from today, meaning backers in the US and Canada will see their orders around August 11th-30th. Though it's possible pieces of the journey may go faster, it's unlikely they will go slower.
International Backers
While US and Canadian orders are making their journey overseas, the backers throughout the rest of the world, from South America to Africa, from Australia to Asia, and also yes, even Europe, will see their orders shipping directly from China.
Backers will variably get emails with tracking numbers either when your package leaves China or when it arrives in your country!
While this will vary by country and distance from China, this process will take roughly 20-40 days starting from today, meaning International backers will see their orders as soon as early to mid July and as late as early August.

Shipping Charges Received | Incoming
Hello folks,
I know it was just a few days ago I said we were all delayed and I had no information. Well, I got information! And the shipping charges.
Setting up Taxes, Tariffs, and VAT and the like has been a whole thing. But it is done. So now you can see the shipping cost on your order for it to be shipped, then the other fees based on your country separately.
Of note: Canadian and US orders are paying for the ocean freight and US tariffs (and related costs), as they are landing in the US before going out places. Canada folks, it was cheaper/faster for us to do it this way in the end, rather than sending to Canada straight from China.

Stragglers
Once the first wave of packages is officially in the mail (including US orders on US soil), the timer will start for the folks who still haven't gotten their surveys in! That's 9 folks who have not gotten a survey in, who I have sent many reminder emails to and also emailed directly from my own gmail account. At that time, they will have 30 days to get their surveys in, or their orders will be cancelled.

if you had your orders merged at any time, I did so by closing out one of your pledges (marking it fulfilled/Shipped) and moving your items to the other pledge. Because your order is still technically there (even tho it's marked shipped!), it did get tagged with VAT, taxes, or Tariffs. So those "closed" orders now say they are underpaid/have a pending charge. But we will only be charging orders that aren't marked Shipped, so you'll never be charged for those.

Update on the Ongoing Shipping Delay
Well, this is the last kind of update I want to make. And it's why I haven't made it until today.
May 13th, I said in a couple days, I'd have shipping added and then we would charge it.
Then May 23rd I said the fulfillment company asked for 2 more days, so we would be adding shipping charges shortly. I put out an update to that effect.
June 1st, they reached out telling me they needed answers on a couple items on the spreadsheet they were confused by. I answered within 4 hours. They replied 40 minutes later to confirm that they understood.
June 9th, I asked what's going on. It's been another week. I thought we'd have this in hand 2 weeks ago.
June 15th, I asked what's going on. We're 3 weeks late and this is not exactly making me look great to my backers right now.
June 16th, I got a reply on a different email from them. I asked if we had information on the main thing I'm worried about. I was replied to 3 minutes later and told "Yes, I am writing replies to other emails. Should send out shortly."
I thought shortly meant the same day. Yesterday I emailed to say as much.
I've still not had a reply, nor have I been given any information on the delay, what a real timetable looks like, or when to expect information.
I don't like making updates if I don't have information, but it looks like we're already a month+ past when I said we would have shipping charges on orders. So I owe you at least an "I don't know" update, which is the kind of update I avoid sending out.

But I did want to put out an update today to let you all know that the US orders are on US shores!
They arrive 3 days late, on the 2nd instead of the 30th of August, but they are here now.
Because of... all that's going on in the states, we are very likely to undergo security testing and clearance nonsense. It is congested at the ports, so it is likely that we will take a week or more to get out of there. This is all the information I have at the moment, but I wanted to celebrate that we have the decks state-side!

Project Update: Shipment Update (Cargo Ship on the Move!) | Updated FAQ [HHW Missing America]
First, please always check updates for the latest info. I know that for many of you, your Backerkit survey/pledge manager is telling you that your order Shipped. But that just means I handed it to the fulfillment center. Your order actually got moving into the mail when I said so in the updates.
Second, we still have 3 people who have not done their surveys, and 6 people who have not gotten their errored cards fixed. Anyone who gets things fixed from here on, or a survey in, will be getting their order in the remaining 2nd wave of shipments at a later date.

US & Canada
We are on the way! Our US + Canadian orders (along with most extra tarot items) got on their cargo ship and departed China on the 7th.
The shipping container will arrive in the US around August 30th. Then it takes a few days to get the container off the ship, another couple days for it to forward the pallets to the warehouse, then shipping goes directly into USPS. This means packages arrive to people in the US roughly September 8th-20th, and up to Canada between September 12th-25th or so.

Direct estimate from my fulfillment team is that you should be seeing tracking between August 28th-September 5th for specifically Europe and Australia. Packages have been in transit either by plane or boat or truck for a couple weeks now. I'm taking that to mean that Asian packages will be arriving earlier since it's coming from China, but that was not explicitly said to me.
I am estimating Rest of World packages to arrive anytime mid-August to mid-September.

- Will I Get Tracking?
- Yes. It will automatically be sent to you by email, typically when it arrives to your home country and is scanned by mail carriers there for the first time.
- I don't know if I did my survey or if mine is in the packages that are fulfilling. How do I know?
- Log into Backerkit and check your survey for this project. If it's marked as Fulfilled, it is in the shipment wave heading out now. Unsure how to find your survey? Check this link:

- Not long at all. We are sending most of the extra printed decks/items to the US with the US orders. So once first wave goes out, I will send out the "Second Wave" as I see people get things in up to the end of the deadline.
- My Order is labeled with a note that says "Consolidated" but I have a $10-40+ credit. What's that?
- Because of how tax/VAT/GST are added to orders on Backerkit, even consolidated orders were tagged with taxes and fees. To make sure we didn't charge you those (since they will instead be charged on your consolidated order on another project), we just gave a blanket $50 credit to anyone whose orders were consolidated. You don't actually have extra money to get paid back, we just did that to avoid accidentally charging you more.
- Who do I contact to ask about my failed charges or survey problems?

Lastly, The Goblin's Tarot will continue through. September 15th it will finally launch, after more than a year of the art all being ready to go. This is the last original deck I have planned to publish for some time. It is a standard, 78-card deck-- the only of its kind to be published by Publishing Goblin so far!

I was holding it until the current tarots were shipped, and when I picked September 15th, we'd expected the HHW + Misery Tarots to be shipped before September even began. Now, I'm accepting that the tarots will be arriving just before or just as it launches, and the oracle dice will be shipping out to people while it's live.

Project Update: HHW Tarot: Missing America Project | Heading Out & FAQ
Hey folks, so we are a bit delayed here. I am disappointed to share that. I have been given no information on why, but the good news is that we are here now.
I requested news from our shipper a few times here over the last two weeks, but have just gotten a reply.

We are on the way. All the US + Canadian orders are with a forwarding shipper right now who are getting them onto a shipping container. I will be informed when they are on a ship, so I can let you know when the 24 day journey begins, but ideally it should be any day now. 28 days ago, I said that we should be seeing US + Canada orders arriving between August 11-30th. International backer orders have been packed and forwarded to handlers who are taking them out abroad as well, this time without a big sea journey, instead traveling through the networks of the various carriers that get the mail to you in your home country.
This means that some of you may be seeing tracking any day now, while I imagine most will only get the automated email for tracking when it hits your home country and updates there. That has been the predominate case in our past experience.

Why the Delays?
This time around I can't be 100% certain. I made a mistake that could be the reason, but I haven't been told that this is the reason. Still, for posterity, I failed to order the correct number of extra Black Lantern Oracle Dice sets. I was nearly 125 short because when I put in the order with the oracle dice manufacturer, I did not count the number that was ordered on their own in the Misery Tarot, just the ones needed for the Deluxe Misery Tarot sets + on their own in the oracle dice project. We got those made and sent over at the start of July.
We should have had enough to cover backer orders though, but it's possible that they sealed all 500 dice sets in the deluxe Misery Tarot sets then were short on the backer orders. Since nearly 200 of the deluxe sets are extras (not backed for,) I thought we would still be okay to cover orders and fill those deluxe sets later. I'm going to assume this was the delay, but then I'm not sure why we aren't on a cargo container already even if that was the delay. It's hard to say, so let's keep on moving I suppose.

I have submit nearly every order from this project to be fulfilled. In fact, there are:
9 people who have not submit their surveys, and...
13 people whose cards have errored out and need to be looked at, replaced, or cleared with their bank.
The other 437 folks on this project have had their orders either merged down into the other projects to be fulfilled (350), or have had their order send to the fulfillment team directly (87).

It will make port, take a couple days to clear, then go on a truck to our warehouse, and from the warehouse, all packages will go straight into USPS to get to backers.
At that time (entering USPS), you will all get emails that your orders are on the way to you with tracking numbers!
This process will take about 40-45 days starting from today, meaning backers in the US and Canada will see their orders around August 11th-30th. Though it's possible pieces of the journey may go faster, it's unlikely they will go slower.
International Backers
While US and Canadian orders are making their journey overseas, the backers throughout the rest of the world, from South America to Africa, from Australia to Asia, and also yes, even Europe, will see their orders shipping directly from China.

Project Update: Shipping Charges Received | Incoming
Hello folks,
I know it was just a few days ago I said we were all delayed and I had no information. Well, I got information! And the shipping charges.
Setting up Taxes, Tariffs, and VAT and the like has been a whole thing. But it is done. So now you can see the shipping cost on your order for it to be shipped, then the other fees based on your country separately.
Of note: Canadian and US orders are paying for the ocean freight and US tariffs (and related costs), as they are landing in the US before going out places. Canada folks, it was cheaper/faster for us to do it this way in the end, rather than sending to Canada straight from China.

Once the first wave of packages is officially in the mail (including US orders on US soil), the timer will start for the folks who still haven't gotten their surveys in! That's 9 folks who have not gotten a survey in, who I have sent many reminder emails to and also emailed directly from my own gmail account. At that time, they will have 30 days to get their surveys in, or their orders will be cancelled.

So those "closed" orders now say they are underpaid/have a pending charge. But we will only be charging orders that aren't marked Shipped, so you'll never be charged for those.
