The 15th location module in our Places by the Way (for D&D 5E) and Found by the Way (for Pathfinder 1E and 2E) is in process, and we're looking for support from our friends on Backerkit, new and returning alike!
In Children of the Mountain/Path to Tifala your party learns of an obscure village hidden in a jungle that sells raw gemstones to visiting traders. They sense that the gemstones come from the nearby volcano that dominates the landscape and that they are blessing from the god of the mountain. However, the villagers now claim that their supply of gems has dried and that the mountain god must be displeased with them for some reason. The traders think that the villagers are holding out; they threaten to return with their own private army and beat the truth out of them.
However, if your party decides to investigate, they eventually find that a xorn (or a group of xorns, if they are too high-level for one to much of a challenge) has emerged from the Plane of Earth to feast on a mountain pool full of the village's trade goods. With a hungry elemental on the one hand and ruthless, angry humans on the other, can your party save the village of Tifala?
