Project FAQ
Enamel pins are created by designing the idea in vector format with Pantone colors, and sending it to the manufacturer to get a quote. Once approved, it goes into production (pending sample approval by me) where they create a metal mold to use to mass produce the pin design. The mold is then used to cast the enamel pins, traditionally with a nickle base and then plated according to your preferences (aka silver, gold, dyed, etc.) The enamel color is mixed by hand to match the Pantone colors that were on the proof, then it is filled in and baked. This step is the step with the most room for deviation from the proof, since the colors are mixed by hand in most cases (sometimes machine), and then baked. Both parts of the process can create shade differences in the color once it is completely baked. If the pin is "hard enamel" it is ground down to a smooth surface. If it is "soft enamel" then you can add an epoxy coating to it to make it smooth. Backing pin(s) are attached to the enamel pin and they are given rubber clutches, bagged, and sent out to the creator.
They are made by two different factories overseas due to regulations on enamel pin casting machines on USA soil, GSJJ and DH-Crafts. I choose between the two of them depending on the type of enamel pin I am making since each of them have their own strengths and weaknesses. All two factories have been previously used and vetted by me, and should not have any problems with fulfillment with this project since I have made multiple pins with both.
The approximate timeline for the entire project should take until around October 2025. This is dependent on the speed of my manufacturers, shipping, fund availability, any mistakes, emergencies, etc. Should there be any delays either with production or fulfillment, we will provide updates to keep everyone informed.
You can most definitely do so, when the surveys go out to collect your information you can add on additional product!
All rewards will be sent out via tracked shipping in either a bubble mailer or a box depending on the size of your pledge with a thank you card. If you purchase a digital-only reward then it will be provided via email.
For this project, the funds will go towards the production of the products, shipment materials, and shipping costs. From those initial funds there will be fees taken out for card processing fees and backerkit fees prior to it being sent to me. Any funds leftover once the products are made will be allocated into our small business for additional projects.
We try to update as frequently as the project allows. If there is a new photo, new samples, a change, and/or a delay, we will be sure to communicate it to you in a timely manner. If you do not hear from us, it is only because there has not been an update with production during that time.
All items, physical and digital, are non-refundable. This campaign has all information, item(s), policies, and costs upfront so there should be no surprises. Back this campaign with this in mind.
You can reach us on any social media platform, as well as via email. Typically we try and respond within 48 business hours. Our tag handle is @rawrendesigns on every platform, and our email is [email protected]
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
