The smoke test is complete, everything is looking good, and we're ready for the next step:
Backer surveys are going out TODAY!
Keep an eye on the email address you used to back Dungeons & Daddies: Not a BDSM Sourcebook. You'll receive an email from BackerKit with a link to your survey.
Emails may not all arrive at exactly the same time, so if your friend gets theirs before you do, don't panic. Give it a little time and check your spam or promotions folders too.
Once Your Survey Arrives
Click the link in the email and follow the instructions. You'll be able to review your pledge and give us the information we need to get everything squared away for fulfillment.
If this is your first crowdfunding campaign and words like "survey" and "Pledge Manager" still sound confusing, check out our previous update. We broke the whole process down step-by-step here!
And remember: filling out your survey doesn't mean rewards are shipping immediately. We're still working through production, and we'll keep you updated as everything moves forward.
Missed the Campaign?
Late pledges are open!
If you missed the original campaign, there's still time to get the goods. Just check out our late pledge store here.
Need Help?
If something looks wrong with your pledge or you run into trouble completing your survey, contact us at: [email protected].
Otherwise, there's only one thing to do today:
Keep an eye on your inbox. Your survey is on the way. 🚐
Thanks again for backing the Dungeons and Daddies Sourcebook. We're moving into the next phase of the crowdfund campaign process: getting everyone's pledges organized so we can work towards getting you your goodies.
If you've backed a bunch of crowdfunding campaigns before, this will be familiar. If this was your first one, you may be wondering what a survey is, why some people are getting one before others, and what the heck a "smoke test" is. Wonder no more!
If you already backed the campaign: You will receive an email from BackerKit with a survey. But! Not everyone will receive that email today. We sending surveys to a small group first as a test (a "smoke test" if you will). This is a complex campaign with a lot of different tiers/rewards/etc. so we need to ensure the survey is capturing the right data from you folks. Once we've confirmed everything's working properly, we'll send the surveys to everyone else.
If you missed the campaign: You'll still have an opportunity to join through the Late Pledge/Pledge Manager! More on that below.
If something goes wrong: Don't panic. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll help.
That's really it. Now here's the longer version for anyone who wants to know what all of that means.
When you backed the campaign, you chose a pledge and supported the project. Now we need some additional information from you so we know exactly what you want and, eventually, where it needs to go.
That's what the backer survey is for.
You'll receive an email from BackerKit with a link to your survey. Click that link and BackerKit will walk you through the process.
Your survey is where you'll be able to review the details associated with your pledge and provide the information we need to fulfill your rewards.
You do not need to create a new pledge. You do not need to back the campaign again. But you WILL need to follow the link in the email and complete the steps.
Think of it as the place where your crowdfunding pledge lives after the campaign ends.
The campaign page was where you originally backed us. The Pledge Manager is where you'll now manage the details of that pledge. Your survey is your ticket to the Pledge Manager. You'll use it to review your pledge, provide the information requested, and access any additional options available for your order.
Before we send seventeen thousand emails to everyone, we're sending the surveys to a small group of backers first. This is called a smoke test. By testing everything with a small group first, we can ensure the survey is working properly and we can catch any problems before thousands of people start filling it out.
So if you DON'T get a survey today: That's normal. If you DO get a survey, that's normal too just uh statistically less normal than not getting a survey. People with surveys - please fill em out and ensure that everything appears in order. If you encounter an actual problem, let us know at [email protected].
Once we've confirmed everything is working correctly, we send surveys to everyone else.
Once the smoke test is complete and we've confirmed everything is working the way it should, we'll release surveys to the rest of our backers.
We'll post another BackerKit update when that happens so you don't need to keep refreshing your inbox wondering if you missed it.
Fweddie-sempai, I missed the campaign uwu. C-c-can I still get the book?
Yes! We have opened Late Pledges through BackerKit.
A Late Pledge is exactly what it sounds like: an opportunity for someone who missed the original campaign to place a pledge afterward.
You can late pledge here: https://dungeons-and-daddies-not-a-bdsm-sourcebook.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
If you're already a backer, you do not need to late pledge. You'll manage your existing pledge through your survey/Pledge Manager instead.
If you or a loved one spent the entire campaign saying, "I'll do it later," this is "later."
Negative! The survey and Pledge Manager are about organizing everyone's orders and giving us numbers we take into production. We are still in production. There are more steps between completing your survey and a package arriving at your door, and we'll keep you updated as we move through them.
Also be cool daddy-o - you don't need to worry about memorizing the entire crowdfunding fulfillment process. When there's something you need to do, we'll tell you exactly what you need to do.
Shipping was not included in your original pledge. You will be charged for shipping separately through the Pledge Manager before fulfillment. Having run crowdfund campaigns during an era before Pledge Managers were standard, I can tell you first hand that the number of people who change addresses between the end of the campaign and the fulfillment of the campaign was a LOT - the Pledge Manager process cleaned that right up.
Exactly! Your address will not be permanently locked today.
Before we ship rewards, we'll let everyone know when the deadline is approaching to update their shipping address.
When that happens, double-check your address.
But for now, follow the instructions in your survey.
If something isn't working, your pledge doesn't look right, or you're confused about something specific to your order, contact: [email protected].
When you contact us, include the email address associated with your BackerKit pledge. That'll help us find your information more quickly.
So to summarize (for the rowdy horny people in the back of the minivan):
Already backed? Wait for your BackerKit survey email.
Didn't receive a survey today? That's normal. We're only smoke testing with a small group right now.
Received one? Fill it out, and let us know if you run into a problem.
Missed the original campaign? Late pledges are coming/open through https://dungeons-and-daddies-not-a-bdsm-sourcebook.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
We're blown away by the support you've given Dungeons & Daddies: Not a BDSM Sourcebook. You showed up, demolished stretch goals faster than we could make them, and hung out with us during livestreams.
You really are the dads who stepped up.
So... What Happens Now?
First up: surveys!
Keep an eye on your inbox. Soon, we'll begin with a survey smoke test, which means a very small group of backers will receive their surveys first.
Assuming everything looks good and we don't accidentally set anything on fire, we'll send surveys to everyone else shortly afterward.
Your survey is where you'll:
Confirm the items in your pledge
Provide your shipping information
Make any available final selections
We'll let you know when surveys begin rolling out, so don't worry if you don't receive yours immediately.
Missed the Campaign?
We'll eventually open a pre-order store for anyone who missed the campaign and still wants to get in on the action. We'll share more details once that's ready.
And Now We Get to Make This Thing
We'll continue posting regular updates here as everything moves through the next stages, so you'll be able to follow along with the progress.
First off, one thing about me is that time zones confuse the hell out of me.
A correction from yesterday's update:
The cast will be live TODAY at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET.
Apologies for the incorrect time yesterday. Please adjust your watches.
You Can't Keep Doing This to Daddy. Actually, you have about 3.5 hours to keep doing this to daddy.
While I was busy figuring out what time it was, you sailed right through $2.6 million AND $2.7 million.
You guys are keeping me SO busy.
Here's what you just unlocked:
⚖️ $2.6 Million: Rules Lawyer (Bard) Subclass
Finally, arguing with your Daddy Master can be part of your character build.
📚 $2.7 Million: A New Dust Jacket
One more completely respectable book cover to display proudly in public.
So What's Left? $2.8 Million: Necromommycon Digital Expansion
$2.9 Million: Season 4 Carpet.. I mean content will be added to the book.
$3 Million: Beth DMs a One-Shot Using the Sourcebook
No way we get higher than that, right? Well - we'll deal with that particular daddy issue if it arises.
Good News on Signed Books
The cast has graciously allowed us to add 300 more signed books to the campaign. So if you were wanting to upgrade to a signed version - act fast! Once these 300 are gone - they're GONE for good!
Less Than 4 Hours Left! We're almost there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you've done throughout this campaign.
You really are the dads who stepped up.
Join us LIVE at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET today for the final hours of the campaign. The cast has a ton of fun stuff planned, and we'd love to have you there as we cross the finish line together.
