It's been a little while since our last update, so we wanted to check in and let you know what's been happening behind the scenes with Nail House and share something new we're incredibly excited about.
Nail House Update
Right now we're deep in editing.
Back in early July, the team set an aggressive internal deadline for Matt and Freddie to export a cut of the film because we were fortunate enough to have several festival contacts interested in seeing the movie, including one who had hoped to watch it before the Fourth of July weekend.
Long story short, the cut wasn't quite ready.
As frustrating as that was, the deadline ended up being incredibly valuable. It gave everyone a much clearer picture of exactly how much work remains before we reach a polished cut and, ultimately, picture lock. Now we have a solid roadmap for what still needs to happen and how the team can support Matt and Freddie as they push toward the finish line.
Luckily, that festival contact is still interested in seeing the film.
So... we're essentially locking Matt and Freddie in an editing room until they come out with a movie. (Food and water will be provided.)
We're also getting a much clearer picture of the pickup shots we'll need. That list is growing, and we're beginning to plan a dedicated pickup shoot that includes a few scenes we're especially excited about...
A miniature Mama Wong's getting blown to pieces.
A motorcycle launching through the restaurant.
Thank you again for making all of this possible!
