The Shattered Empire is a realm of eternal war, stitched together by the Bone Road, a crumbling highway connecting cities no one remembers building. Its gods are indifferent to prayer, its heroes are gritty and morally gray, and its magic is a dangerous mystery even to the wizards who wield it. There are no gallant princes or fair maidens here.
Every character starts as an unremarkable, desperate soul, because in this world, survival alone is an achievement. Wolves stalk the wilderness, the undead never break morale, and magic items are rare, cursed, and always priced in blood.
