Hello friends and gamers!

We're heading into the second week of the crowdfunding campaign, and I just wanted to say thank you again for helping us reach our funding goal so early. This is the fourth crowdfunding campaign I've run for my games, and I have to tell you it is a significantly less stressful experience being fully funded so quickly. I have been able to turn my attention to stretch goals, work with the manufacturer early to get the process started, and generally have benefitted from much lower levels of contingency planning. For that, I thank you!

I have a few updates today that I wanted to share with you.

We've already unlocked one stretch goal and are halfway to our next one! As is typical for crowdfunding campaigns, new pledges have slowed down, but I'm pleased to say that I'm seeing a nice, continual train of support each day, and I think we are on track to unlock the second bonus scenario for all three games this week. While the first two stretch goals were for new content, I'll tease the $25,000 stretch goal a bit by saying that it's not another scenario, but rather a tool that will be useful to players of all three games, and is especially aimed at people playing online, at conventions, or wherever dice are hard to come by.

I wanted to call everyone's attention to several community achievements that are already a part of the campaign. They're listed at the bottom of this post, but essentially we have achievement goals for sharing the campaign on Facebook and X, joining the Scratchpad Publishing Discord server, following Scratchpad Publishing on Bluesky, and one for total backers. I've lowered the threshold for a few of these (I think some of the defaults were for much bigger campaigns) so they are more viable. These aren't just for fun; each completed achievement comes with a reward for all backers, including adding new cards to the foil-stamped promo deck! Check them out, and take a few seconds to click, share, and join to help make everyone's rewards better.

Just one quick final note: by request, I've added the ability to add on extra copies of Spectaculars and Dusk City Outlaws (which you could already do for Neon City Outlaws). This is a great way to grab a copy for a friend or to have as a gift for the gamer in your life who would enjoy these games. If you want more than one copy, go ahead and update your pledge to include the Add-Ons.

Well, that was fast!

Thanks to everyone who has backed so far, we're already at our first stretch goal, which is, in a word, spectacular! This means everyone's getting new scenarios for all three games, which is just the first step in a really exciting road to more content for everyone to play!

Of course, along similar lines, the next stretch goal is going to be familiar. At $20,000, I'm going to produce three more scenarios, one each for Dusk City Outlaws, Spectaculars, and Neon City Outlaws. I love making new scenarios for my games because they're a great way to get more game content into your hands without overloading these quick-time-to-table games with a bunch of overhead. Plus, there's so much of the worlds of my games to explore, and each new scenario is a peek at a different corner of the world you're exploring or creating.

What an incredible sight to wake up to this morning.

Thanks to all of your support, we've hit our funding goal already. I've never had a crowdfunding campaign hit its goal so quickly, and for that I have nothing but gratitude. These games simply don't get made without your help; they quite literally would not exist. So, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Now, to business!

Since we've hit our funding goal, it's time to reveal some stretch goals. Because there are two (or three, if you are also getting Neon City Outlaws for the first time) games that are a part of this campaign, trickling out stretch goals that only applied to one game seemed like a surefire path to disappointment. So, instead, our first stretch goal kicks in at $15,000, but it's a triple-strength reward.

If we hit $15,000 in funding, every backer will receive a complimentary digital download of THREE brand-new scenarios for each of these games. Unlocking this stretch goal earns every backer:

These are scenarios that are being created specifically as rewards for this campaign, so if you backed one of these games' Kickstarters in the past, or have purchased PDFs from DriveThruRPG, not to worry, you won't be receiving something you already own.

I'm also revealing a long-term stretch goal: At $50,000, all three games will get a component upgrade, something that makes each game better. I know hitting this goal might seem like a longshot, but we're over 20% of the way there, and we still have most of the crowdfunding campaign to go. Furthermore, while $50,000 is a big stretch, it's also not the last stretch goal I have planned. If we hit that stretch goal, it's not the end of the road by a longshot!

(Note for folks who backed the Neon City Outlaws Kickstarter campaign: If we hit that $50k stretch goal and unlock the component upgrade, you will ALSO receive the upgrade to your Kickstarter pledge, so don't worry about missing out!) 

In addition to the stretch goals mentioned above, I wanted to call some attention to the community achievements I've put together for this campaign. There are currently achievements (visible in the Community tab of the BackerKit page) for sharing this campaign on social media, for the number of backers for the entire project, and for joining the Scratchpad Publishing Discord server or following Scratchpad Publishing on Bluesky. The achievement goals for these are pretty high, but they'll also unlock rewards of their own when hit. Most of these will allow me to add more cards to the foil-stamped promo deck, but there are a few other potential rewards in there. Plus, you can track our progress toward the stretch goals there too!
