The Hidden Isle is a tabletop roleplaying game which uses Tarot cards instead of dice: for skill checks, character creation, story inspiration and more! It’s set in the sixteenth century on the island of Dioscoria: a secret city of magicians, adventurers and free thinkers. The game focuses on roleplaying and collaborative storytelling, and its mechanics put character growth front and centre. It's an A4-size, gold-foiled, hardcover book of 191 pages. Contains the complete game rules for "The Hidden Isle", sections describing Dioscoria and the world of the sixteenth century, and all core character classes and supplementary tables.

Haven’s Heir is the first campaign book for The Hidden Isle, featuring 10-13 adventures.

The Dioscorian Library is an A4-size, UV-foiled, hardcover book of roughly 230 pages. Features rules supplements to expand and enhance the base game, including rules for familiars and combat, two new character classes, more NPCs and factions, deeper GM tips, more beasts, rules errata, and reprints of all one-shots to date.

You will need The Hidden Isle - Rulebook as a base. It's an A4-size, gold-foiled, hardcover book of 191 pages and contains the complete game rules for "The Hidden Isle", sections describing Dioscoria and the world of the sixteenth century, all core character classes and supplementary tables. It allows you to generate your own adventures and roam your own way around the Dioscorian World. Inside the Dioscorian Library - Supplement Book, you can find all previously published Hidden Isle adventures (the 2 zines), new additional rules and tips, 2 new classes and overall much more details and improved rules that will make sure you can have the intended, best experience playing The Hidden Isle. Lastly, Haven's Heir is a campaign book featuring 12 adventures, making sure you have enough content for you and your hand. If you'd rather only play the 2 zines (featured in the Dioscorian Library) and create your own adventures, then it is optional. (But Haven's Heir is where all the magic happens...) And you of course need a tarot deck to play! ANY deck can be used, but if you want to, you can get our selfmade tarot decks to stay within the Dioscorian style.

Yes! If you made a pre-launch reservation you will get the 5€ discounted on pledges that include the sticker sheet and pin! You can find them under the pledges, markes as "reservation pledge - [Tier name]". If your pledge includes ANY physical item, whether that be a physical pledge or a physical item as an add-on, you will receive the sticker sheet + pin IF you made a reservation pre-launch.

Not at all! We included some handy tables for you, where you can find each card’s meaning, prompts for generating scenarios, characters, or mood and tone. Additionally if you decide to get our Tarot deck as well, you’ll receive a Guidebook that contains the deeper meanings of the cards.

We recommend a group size of 5 (one game master or Seer, and four players or Agents) for the most comfortable experience, but if you feel adventurous you can go even for six. In case you would want a more personal and intimate experience, there is a game mode for one player as well.

First, you back the project here on BackerKit. That means that you support us in making the project, and that you will get rewards depending on the amount of your backing. After the BackerKit campaign is over, it will take a couple of weeks until you will get an invitation to the so-called BackerKit pledge manager. This will be sent to your the mail adress attached to your BackerKit account. Follow the link you get, and you will see the Backer Survey. Here you enter the necessary information we will need to ship the products to you - that will usually just be your shipping address. You will also get the chance to change your pledge to a higher one if you would like to, or to add add-ons. Afterwards you proceed to pay for shipping, the amount depending on which country you want the physical rewards to be shipped to. When you are done with your Backer Survey and paid for shipping or any potential upgrades to your pledge, you are all done on your side! The rest is on us. We’ll make sure to finish production and manufacturing as soon as possible, and send your rewards to you. We will stay in touch with updates and calls to action if there’s anything you need to do throughout the entire process, so you always know what you have to do. And don’t worry, it’s not complicated

A few weeks after the campaign is over, backers will receive a link inviting them to their pledge survey on BackerKit, which that will allow them to add on items and pay for shipping, add-ons, etc. It functions much like a web store with photos and descriptions of each item. You will be able to enter your address and edit it before we ship the project. Nearly all large Kickstarter projects use a pledge manager as they greatly help organize, track, and fulfill orders

Here's what you could do: Make a smaller pledge, whatever you can afford now. Soon after the campaign, we'll be opening up the BackerKit’s pledge manager, so you can still upgrade to a higher pledge.Prices in the pledge manager will be the same as during the Campaign, as long as you already backed anything during the campaign.

Yes, you will be able to add add-ons in the pledge manager as a $1 backer.

Yes, you can change your pledge both during the BackerKit campaign and after it ends. You can freely change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons directly from your pledge confirmation page while the campaign is live. You can also change your tier after the campaign ends via your survey! When you first start it, there will be a prompt to change tiers if you want to.

Funds will be processed for this project after the campaign closes. You will receive an email from BackerKit with further details.

No, the Opus Aureum is not part of this campaign and will not be featured as an add-on. But what is it? The Opus Aureum is a tarot guidebook from our last campaign, "Gilded Legacy". It's a guide to the deeper meaning of the Gilded Legacy deck's symbolism, structure, the subtler meanings of each individual card, and how the cards relate to each other. It also goes into the exploration of Dioscorian culture, providing insight into the city's lore and much more.

You get instant access (immediately after pledging) for: - The Hidden Isle PDF (including character sheets + reference sheets) - Prologue Adventure PDF (including character sheets + reference sheets) All other items are in the process of being produced, we estimate the production to be finished in September/October 2027. Yes! If your pledge total is $150 or more before shipping and tax, you’ll see the option during checkout.

BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.

If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.

Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.

Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
