Dear members of Shadowlands Games, On your BackerKit site for “Call of the Sea: The Everhart Expedition” you state: “We are committed to transparency and communication to our backers.“ That is clearly not true. I am deeply frustrated with the current state of communication surrounding this project. There have been no updates for several months, despite the fact that the originally promised shipping window of April 2026 has already passed. At the same time, I am aware that your other projects appear to be in a similarly stalled state, which raises serious concerns about your studio’s capacity to fulfill its commitments. I have been following the updates on your other projects as well, and I have noticed a recurring pattern: printer issues are consistently cited as the reason for delays. While production problems can of course arise, this explanation appearing repeatedly across multiple projects starts to feel less like an isolated incident and more like a systemic issue — or, frankly, a convenient excuse. I would expect a publisher with your experience to either have contingency plans in place or to be more transparent about the root causes. This matters to me personally because my pledge includes not only “Call of the Sea” but also “Scions of the Dark Goddess“. The ongoing delays and lack of communication therefore affect me on multiple fronts simultaneously. I am formally requesting: 1. A clear and honest update on the current status of both projects included in my pledge. 2. A revised and realistic delivery timeline — not a placeholder date. 3. A specific explanation of the printer issues: which printer, what went wrong, and what steps are being taken to resolve it. I backed your projects because I believed in them. Please do not make me regret that decision. Sincerely, David
