Project Update: Fractal Terminus, Mothball Magic, and Facets of the Nether!
I've got several updates for you today. First, I've got the full cover for Facets of the Nether! This is the second book in The Dissolution Trilogy, and once again, Spoon has done amazing work on it. There's one final small change to the cover, and then I'll be uploading them to all the sites, as well as sending out your free eBooks. We've got one more to go and the trilogy will be complete! Let me know what you think of it!
Second, I've sent out paperback copies of Fractal Terminus last week, so those backers hopefully have gotten them by now. I'll be sending out paperback copies of Mothball Magic very soon, as I've already got the books. Hopefully this week or maybe early next week. I'll also be sending out the eBooks most likely tomorrow, so keep an eye on your email!
Third, we've only got one book left to ship out: Talio Rossa and the Elixir of Life. This one will be coming to you hopefully in late May, and will finish off the Year 4 part 2 campaign!
In the meantime, we have eight more incredible queer books ready for you in the Space Wizard Year 5 campaign! Here's the quick summaries to whet your appetite. If you're interested, make sure to sign up! I'm still waiting on most of the covers, but they'll start showing up very soon, and we'll have author interviews posted to the launch party starting next week!
- Lucianus, by C.J. Beshara - An ancient wizard, reincarnated into a new body, learns how the world has changed since his catastrophic death, and why his new traveling companion is interested in him!
- Aliens in New Florida, by Carmen Loup, author of the Audacity Omnibus (and in the same universe) - A road trip across post-apocalyptic Florida with prophesy, an attractive reptilian alien, psychedelics, omniscient aliens (and humans), and a quest for the fabled Kingdom!
- Gunmaker, by Chris Gerrib, in the same universe as his previous Space Wizard book One of Our Spaceships is Missing - A murder by gunshot on the indentured mining colony of Eros, a place where guns are not allowed, sparks an investigation into the corruption of the colony owners!
- Romance and the Gentle Art of Rocket Racing, by Rena Rocford, author of the recently released Mothball Magic - A rocket-racing rogue must help her secret half-brother, the king of his colony, to woo the woman of his dreams, through silk, intrigue, and fast ships!
- Pressure Magic - book 3 of William C. Tracy's Shifting Lands fantasy series. Silluka has survived the invasion of Chimor, but she, her brother Ichu, her girlfriend Cosquella, and Lugopo, the eldritch octopus, find themselves stuck on a strange island with a master craftsman!
- Promise of Manifest, by Alex Kingsley - Find out what happens in the conclusion of The Bastion Cycle, in a world of post apocalyptic giant crabs and human scavengers! This is the third book, following Empress of Dust (the 2025 Small Spec Book award winner for Science Fiction) and Relic of Haven!
- Queen and Obsidian, by J.S. Fields, a duology of science fiction space opera stories. It begins with Queen, where an intersex woman is trapped on a barely hospitable planet of women, only to learn their meager living area is further threatened. This is followed up by Obsidian, which follows the events of the first book!

Project Update: The Seeds of Dissolution eBooks have been sent, and check out our first audiobook campaign!
Just a quick, update to say I pushed the button to send out the new eBook version of The Seeds of Dissolution just now. This version is a thanks to all the backers in this campaign for helping us reach the goal to fund new covers for the trilogy! The eBook version has been reformatted, a few more pictures colorized, and of course, the new cover. So even if you have a copy already, check this one out! I hope to have a preview of the new cover for Facets of the Nether very soon!
And if you haven't yet, make sure to check out our new campaign to bring Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before to audiobook! Mary Robinette Kowal is narrating, so this is bound to be a stupendous recording. This is also a kind of test-run for Space Wizard to see if it's viable to fund our own audio recordings. We're closing on halfway funded already, so if that's something you think is worthwhile, please take a look at the campaign!
I'll be back next with another book cover or book release!

Project Update: The Healer's Magic copies are in, and The Seeds of Dissolution has a new cover!
I've got copies of The Healer's Magic in, just in time for the release on March 10th. I'll be sending those out to backers soon. Meanwhile, here's all three lovely covers together for your enjoyment!
Speaking of covers, I wanted to share the new, finalized cover for The Seeds of Dissolution I just got today from Spoon of Spoonwood Visuals. Isn't it amazing!
I'll be putting the new cover online and switching out the print and eBook covers in the next couple days. Meanwhile, Spoon is already starting on book 2, Facets of the Nether. Remember, everyone who backed will get a free eBook copy of the whole trilogy! I'll be sending out the copies of The Seeds of Dissolution to all backers very soon, and thanks again for getting us to that stretch goal!
I'll be at Ret-Con this weekend, so come say hi if you're there. I'll have a prop cover of The Seeds of Dissolution out for you to enjoy!
I hope to have some news on the second book in my next update!

Project Update: Tea Tale is in, and progress on the new Dissolution Cycle covers!
I've got some exciting news! I've just received copies of our third book, Tea Tale, so I'll be sending out backer rewards soon! Isn't it pretty?
Secondly, I got the preliminary sketches for the new Dissolution Cycle covers, funded by our second stretch goal, and I have to say, they look amazing! There's two options, though and I need your help!
First, here are both concepts for the trilogy, with notes from Spoon on composition. I thought it would be fun to share, and shows the development process. The top covers are leaning more to the fantasy side, with more dramatic lighting and character focus. The bottom set leans more to the science fiction side, showing off the architecture of the main city in the book, as well as some of the plot events, but with less emphasis on the characters.
I really love both of these, and I'm having trouble figuring out what would be the best fit for the book. That's where you come in! Hurry to the poll below and let me know what you think! Which set of covers would you make grabby hands for? What really sparks your interest to know more about the story?
Remember, you all get eBook copies of the full trilogy with the new covers for passing our second stretch goal, so pick the ones you want in your library!
Let me know what you think, comment with any additional thoughts, and I'll see you soon with another update on the progress!
Here they are, without notes, so you can see better:

Project Update: Space Wizard Year 4 books are coming in (and a new announcement)!
We're heading into the second half of Space Wizard Year 4 quickly! If you backed them, you should have recieved eBooks for our first two releases, The Dragonscale Comb and Corruption already. I'll be sending out the eBooks for Tea Tale, our third release, in just a couple days!
I've also shipped out the first round of physical rewards, for those books that have been released. I'll send out another few packages when I get copies of Tea Tale in, but most physical rewards will be going out in May and June when the rest of the books are released!
I've only got five people who haven't answered their surveys for physical rewards, so once you get those in, I can schedule mailing them out!
I also have some exciting news from Space Wizard! Do you listen to audiobooks? Do you like Lesbians in Space? Space Wizard is bringing Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before and Lesbians in Space: The Sapphics Strike Back to audiobook! We have some very exciting news on a potential narrator as well, but I can't say anything yet...you'll have to keep an eye on the sign up page!
That's all for now. I'll be back later with more news!
