This is a post I was hoping I wouldn't have to make. I'll just get right to it: The project got a DMCA notice, and Backerkit has complied by taking down the story page.
This will NOT affect its ultimate completion and fulfillment. However, it will cause a delay.
So far, the only thing that actually changed on the Port-O-Battle page on Backerkit is that the story pages have been taken down. Updates, pledge levels, and even my backend are all fully accessible. You can even comment on updates such as this one.
I received a copy of the notice. The complaint does not effect the whole project. It specifically only covers 2 teams - one of which I have already redone (images are below). The other team I am working on. The terrain, box, rulers, measuring tools, equipment, and other 5 teams are unaffected. That's a vast majority of the project, and does not pose an insurmountable barrier to my finishing and distributing it.
I believe I can get the project page back up once I make the changes. But even if I can't (I will need permission from both the complainant and Backerkit - one of which is much more responsive than the other), I can still complete and distribute the project, as my distribution will go through My Mini Factory, not Backerkit. As long as I make the changes, the new teams will not be affected and I can distribute them normally along with the rest of the project. In the 5 years I have been making proxy models, I have only gotten 1 DMCA before now.
In the mean time, here is one of the two changed teams. Say hello to Version 3 of the Tinmen Reapers. The other affected team is Chaos Tinmen Veterans. I am currently working on those and will post WIPs in the Discord as I rework it.

Thank you, and don't panic! The project is still underway, but it might just take a little more time to get there.
