Hi my lovely backers, I'm about to leave the country for a long-planned holiday. Lots will be happening in the background while I'm gone, but I'm not planning to update unless something big and exciting happens, so here's you're 'before I leave update':
We've just sent out the survey 'smoke test' - this goes out to 5% of our backers to make sure we haven't messed anything up. Once half of those backers fill in the survey and we confirm that we've got everything right, we'll be sending to everyone.
The survey will enable you to add-on additional items if there's anything you wanted during the campaign but didn't get. It will ALSO be where you choose the prints you want, supply your address, etc.
We will not be collecting shipping at this stage. This will come later, once the books have arrived.
I received funds last week and we've made a start: - We had to place a tarot card order for a different Kickstarter so we have ordered the cards that are finished + the boxes. - Kristi is hard at work on the remaining three cards. I'll have art to show you in a couple of weeks. - All interior formatting has been completed, which means we have spine widths and... - Holly is working on spines and back covers. I've chosen a quote for the back covers instead of a full blurb. The quotes are mostly funny ones :) - Once the surveys come in, Holly will be able to pull all the raven prints we need and ship those to me along with the cover prints (she's already printed these - she has to print them as she makes the covers because the process of creating the covers with two colours destroyed the lino plates.) - Art prints have been ordered. - Samples of the stamp and stamp pad arrived and they're great! - Books have been accurately priced by the printer and the tip-in sheets have been ordered.

I won't be signing the tip-in sheets until I return (I'd been hoping they'd arrive before I left and I could race through them and also show you how pretty they look, but alas, it was not to be. They'll probably arrive the day after I leave.) This means that we'll be into 2027 by the time books arrive, but this is why we give ourselves 1 year to do things. :)

I have a couple of fun things coming out: My new cozy romance, You're So Vein, about a rivals-to-lovers set in a Stars Hollowesque small town where a vampire and a human are vying to be mayor while one of them hides a dark secret, is out September 29th!
I just released a super fun cozy fantasy romance called Honey & Hexes about a honey witch who opens an enchanted meadery with the help of a chaotic cat shifter she absolutely should not fall in love with. You can read it here, and I'm working on book 2 now.

Hi my lovely backers - thank you, thank you so much! The Nevermore Bookshop Linocut Special Editions are a go! We closed out with $65,550NZD in total funding - not quite enough to hit our next stretch goal, but enough to create some gorgeous special editions.
So what happens next? Over the next two weeks Backerkit will take payments. Most of you will have been charged immediately. For those who run into payment issues, you'll be able to update your credit card/payment details so that your payment can go through - Backerkit will remind you. Those on pay-over-time, your first instalment will come out now, too.
In roughly two weeks I will get all the funds, and then we can start ordering things!
Samantha (my formatter) is working on interior formatting now for all five books. Once that's done, we kick the files over to Holly, who will finish off the back covers and spines, and then we'll be able to send the files off to the printer (I'm hoping in November we'll be able to put in our order - it might be earlier but I'm away all of October so I'm trying to offer a sensible timeline). Printing and shipping the books takes the longest, so once those are ordered, we'll get onto ordering everything else, like art prints, stickers, and stamps – we do it this way so that we don't have lots of stuff lying around in my two storage places for months.
I am on a tough writing deadline right now, but soon we'll start organising the survey so you can choose things like the art prints you want.
I am super excited to bring these books to life for you!

Hi my lovely friends, I can't believe there are only three days left on the Nevermore Bookshop Linocut Special Editions. What a whirlwind it's been!
We've just hit our next stretch goal of $55,000NZD, which means that everyone who has the tarot cards included in their order will be getting an extra card included – Grimalkin, the bookshop's fiesty feline. I'll put Kristi to work immediately drawing up this beauty, but for now, have a look at some of the other cards you're getting:

First achievement stretch goal unlocked! Wax seals for all - next we have a new tarot card
Wooooooohoooooo, we did it! The campaign has been live for three days and already we smashed the first achievement stretch goal - now every backer will get a set of Quoth the Raven wax seals as part of their package.
We've ordered a sample of these so I'm hoping we'll have a picture to show you soon (things take a loooooong time to get to New Zealand.
In the meantime, let's talk about our next stretch goal.
I have this wild idea to create a full 28-card tarot deck using all the characters from the Nevermore Bookshop world. We did 8 cards in my last Kickstarter for Fangs for Nothing (you can nab them as add-ons here if you didn't catch that one), and we've got four cards in this campaign...but what if we added more?
If we hit $55k NZD, we will have our amazing tarot artist, Kristi Zeyn, create a fifth card – this will be the black cat, Grimalkin, who inhabits Nevermore Bookshop and may be more than she appears.
If you have the tarot set as part of your reward or as an add-on, you'll get this fifth card included.

That's incredible, and is such a testament to how much you all love this kooky, spooky series about getting railed by fictional villains from classic literature in a quirky bookshop :).

Now that our basic funding is covered, the fun REALLY begins.
I've set a new 'Achievement' stretch goal - this is an extra goal for funds raised. If we hit it, you get extra goodies. I have four achievement stretch goals to unlock in total. Can we get them all?
Our first goal is for a set of wax seal stickers featuring everyone's favourite raven, Quoth. I have a set of the stickers on the way, and once they arrive, I'll share a picture. But they are super cute and feature the Quoths from the chapter headers, and they're just like normal stickers on the back but they look and feel like wax seals on the front.
If we hit $40,000NZD (about $23.500USD) I'll add a set of stickers to everyone's order! We're got the rest of the month, so I reckon we can do it.
