3 days left and we've unlocked the second stretch goal! A new tarot card!
Hi my lovely friends, I can't believe there are only three days left on the Nevermore Bookshop Linocut Special Editions. What a whirlwind it's been!
We've just hit our next stretch goal of $55,000NZD, which means that everyone who has the tarot cards included in their order will be getting an extra card included – Grimalkin, the bookshop's fiesty feline. I'll put Kristi to work immediately drawing up this beauty, but for now, have a look at some of the other cards you're getting:
Tarot designs - the card on the right is the back of the cards. All the borders are foiled.

If you're a backer and you don't have the tarot cards in your reward, you can add them on! All the cards are double-sided and foiled, and they join together with the set of Fangs for Nothing tarot cards. Each time I do a crowdfunding campaign I'm adding new cards to create a full Nevermore Bookshop themed deck. It's going to be stunning

First achievement stretch goal unlocked! Wax seals for all - next we have a new tarot card
Wooooooohoooooo, we did it! The campaign has been live for three days and already we smashed the first achievement stretch goal - now every backer will get a set of Quoth the Raven wax seals as part of their package.
We've ordered a sample of these so I'm hoping we'll have a picture to show you soon (things take a loooooong time to get to New Zealand.
In the meantime, let's talk about our next stretch goal.
I have this wild idea to create a full 28-card tarot deck using all the characters from the Nevermore Bookshop world. We did 8 cards in my last Kickstarter for Fangs for Nothing (you can nab them as add-ons here if you didn't catch that one), and we've got four cards in this campaign...but what if we added more?
If we hit $55k NZD, we will have our amazing tarot artist, Kristi Zeyn, create a fifth card – this will be the black cat, Grimalkin, who inhabits Nevermore Bookshop and may be more than she appears.
If you have the tarot set as part of your reward or as an add-on, you'll get this fifth card included.
CAN WE DO IT? We're at $42k today and we still have 30 days left, so I reckon so. Please share the campaign with your bookish friends and tell them about the Bonkers Romance Book Fair - we're having a blast over here :)

That's incredible, and is such a testament to how much you all love this kooky, spooky series about getting railed by fictional villains from classic literature in a quirky bookshop :).

Now that our basic funding is covered, the fun REALLY begins.
I've set a new 'Achievement' stretch goal - this is an extra goal for funds raised. If we hit it, you get extra goodies. I have four achievement stretch goals to unlock in total. Can we get them all?
Our first goal is for a set of wax seal stickers featuring everyone's favourite raven, Quoth. I have a set of the stickers on the way, and once they arrive, I'll share a picture. But they are super cute and feature the Quoths from the chapter headers, and they're just like normal stickers on the back but they look and feel like wax seals on the front.
If we hit $40,000NZD (about $23.500USD) I'll add a set of stickers to everyone's order! We're got the rest of the month, so I reckon we can do it.

This is the first time we've used Backerkit, and we're trialling all the features – it's fun seeing you all being excited about the early access and it also allows us to work out the kinks before we go live!
Kink number 1 (dirty!) is that we somehow missed that we don't have all of our goodies as add-ons. We're fixing that this morning so you'll be able to add on extra books, Ex Libris stamps, and art prints. If you wanted any of those things and they weren't there, check back in a few hours or tomorrow and you'll be able to add them on.
Kink number 2 is that I totally forgot to let everyone know that you can PAY OVER TIME – if you pledge over $150USD, when you go to checkout you get the option to pay in four instalments.

But if you've been a fan for a while, you might already own a set of pretty hardcover Nevermore Bookshop books from our previous Vintage-classics-inspired Kickstarters in 2022 and 2024. This is AWESOME AND I HEART YOU! And of course we thought of you when designing this campaign.
We have tiers which include no books but some of the fun extras we've created. If you get one of those tiers, you can add other items on to basically customise your own box of Nevermore goodies. Here are two of the items I think you will definitely want!
The Nevermore Bookshop EX LIBRIS stamp (+ ink pad)
This is an old-fashioned wooden stamp you can use to write your name in your books and customise your own personal library. It also makes awesome homemade bookplates for meeting authors at signings, and can be stamped on anything papery when you need a dose of Quoth in your life. Designed by Holly Dunn in a linocut style. Just loooook at the spooky-cuteness!
Quoth the Raven Open Edition Art Prints
These are hand-printed by artist Holly Dunn. Each print is A5 size and includes one of five Quoth the Raven images (from the chapter headings) in water-based block ink on Handmade Khadi 100% cotton, 150gsm paper, with gold details applied by hand surrounding them.
These are open edition (meaning that they're unnumbered and we'll print as many as we need).
I'm very big on supporting real artists, and being able to do cool things like this with my arty friends is absolutely why I love crowdfunding!
