Project Update: Schedule Update + Playtest Finishing + Upcoming ST Forge Events!

The day star shall now officially dominate the summer with its vicious laser of flesh melting power.

Which means I'm officially becoming more nocturnal. Random life stuff aside, here's what's going on with the Black Ballad this week!

Schedule Update:

-All Playtest and Drafting of the Book will be complete by 6/30/2023. It's been a heck of a run to write this chonky book, but the end is officially in sight. What's funny, is we've already discovered so much content that we need to yeet into a second book for sure. Devotion rules for the faithful? Time gods? Elder... gods? Ideas are brewing.

-New Domains and the Godless Core Class are up for their final round of PT. If you want to add your two cents in, make sure you swing by our discord and toggle the Playtest interest roles. You can download the living word-docs and take a look at the player features while we can still make edits.

-Art and Maps will be completed in August. James Mosingo has been playing schedule-ping-pong with every artist on the project to line up who is available. It's about as fun as trying to schedule adult D&D with 7 people.

-The Black Ballad Orchestral Soundtrack is entering the final stage of production! We will end up planning an entire release around that music when DiAmorte is ready.

-The Novel Duskwalker 1st draft has been turned in by Crystal Wood! Between working on the Black Ballad, the Eldritch Editor and myself are starting to dev-edits!

Upcoming Events:

-How to (Not) Suck at Storytelling: Where? ST Forge Discord! When? 7:00 PM Central time tonight! What the hell is it? A roughly hour long panel on the styles of storytelling, and the worst failures ever made by me and other ST forge storytellers - and what we learned about them.

-Black Ballad in a Castle!: https://www.tabletoprpginacastle.com/thecampaigns We sold out of our events this July at RPG in a Castle! HOWEVER! I'm posting this here because it's friggin' awesome and because we sold out--we will totally be doing this again. Sign up for the mailing list if playing D&D in a castle all weekend is your kind of jam!

-ConnectiCon! July 20th-July 23rd. I'll be at ConnectiCon doing panels, signing books, and talking about TTRPG's all weekend. Swing by and find some people from ST Forge!

That's all for this weeks update!

(These will become much prettier btw when we have new art to proudly show off!)
