We Did It! Thank You for Supporting Rascally Rabbits!
The Rascally Rabbits BackerKit Crowdfunding campaign officially ended, and I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this campaign possible!
Whether you backed a copy, upgraded your pledge, picked up an add-on, followed the campaign, shared it with friends, or simply cheered us on along the way, your support means so much to me.
What Happens Next?
Our next big step will be opening the Pledge Manager in September. Once it opens, backers will be able to complete their surveys, confirm their pledge information, select add-ons, and update their shipping information. We'll send another update with full instructions when everything is ready, so there's nothing you need to do just yet.
We'll also open the Rascally Rabbits Preorder Store in September for anyone who missed the campaign. So if you have friends who wanted to join but didn't make it before the deadline, they'll still have an opportunity to preorder the game.
We're Pushing for January 2027 Fulfillment!
Our original fulfillment estimate was March 2027, but we're going to push hard to get Rascally Rabbits into your hands sooner. Our new goal is to begin fulfillment in January 2027 if production, freight, and logistics all go according to plan.
There's still a lot of work ahead, finalizing files, manufacturing, freight, and coordinating fulfillment around the world, so January is a target rather than a guarantee. We'll keep everyone updated as production moves forward and let you know if anything changes. For now, we're excited to get to work!
Thank you again for believing in Rascally Rabbits and supporting another Sunrise Tornado game. Crowdfunding allows an independent designer like me to keep experimenting, creating unusual games, and bringing them directly to players like you.
I'll see you again in September when we open the Pledge Manager!
🐰 Less Than 30 Hours Left — We’re So Close to No No Bunny!
We did it! Our No No Bunny stretch goal has officially been unlocked! 🎉🐰
Thank you so much to everyone who helped us get there. Whether you backed the campaign, upgraded your pledge, added an add-on, shared the project, or told a friend about Rascally Rabbits, this stretch goal happened because of you!
It was incredibly exciting watching us get closer and closer over the past few days, and I'm thrilled that we were able to unlock No No Bunny before the campaign ends.
⏰ Less Than 24 Hours to Go!
And now we're officially in the final day of Rascally Rabbits on BackerKit Crowdfunding! It's hard to believe we're already here. From months of development and playtesting to demoing the game at San Diego Comic-Con and Gen Con, this has been quite a journey. Thank you to everyone who has been following along and helping us bring these rascally bunnies to life.
If you've been thinking about backing, this is your last chance to join the campaign before it ends!
Campaign backers can still take advantage of the special crowdfunding price, receive the Giant 4" Rabbit Token with every copy, and enjoy the stretch-goal upgrades we've unlocked together.
If you've already backed, thank you! One of the biggest ways you can help during these final hours is simply to share the campaign one more time with your gaming group, trick-taking friends, or anyone who might enjoy a little bunny mischief.
🐰 One Last Hop to the Finish Line!
We've funded the game. We've unlocked our stretch goals. Now let's see just how far these rabbits can go in the final hours!
Less than 24 hours remain.
Thank you again for making Rascally Rabbits possible. Let's finish this garden raid strong! 🐰🥕🎉
Creative Team of Rascally Rabbits Sunrise Tornado Game Studio
We did it! Thanks to your amazing support, our Spot UV box stretch goal has officially been unlocked! 🎉
Every copy of Rascally Rabbits will now receive a beautiful Spot UV finish on the game box, adding a little extra shine and polish to the final production. Thank you to everyone who backed, shared, and helped us reach this milestone. But, of course, the bunnies aren't finished causing trouble yet...
🐰 Next Stretch Goal: No No Bunny! — $10,808
Our next stretch goal introduces a brand-new card to the game: No No Bunny! If we reach $10,808, we'll add the No No Bunny! card to every copy of Rascally Rabbits!
At the beginning of the game, shuffle No No Bunny! into the Favorite Vegetable deck. At the start of each round, reveal a Favorite Vegetable as usual. But if No No Bunny! is revealed, something terrible has happened...
The bunny stole the Favorite Vegetable! 🐰🥕
That means there is NO TRUMP for the entire round. Normally, the Favorite Vegetable acts as the trump suit and can beat the lead vegetable. During a No Trump round, no vegetable has that special advantage. For example, if Broccoli is led, only Broccoli can win the trick, and the highest Broccoli played wins.
It sounds like a small change, but it can completely change how you customize your Garden Card and approach the round. Suddenly, there's no powerful trump crop to rely on, and managing the strength of your different vegetables becomes even more important.
Help us reach $10,808 and catch that rascally No No Bunny!
🥕 The Mystery of the Garden Card
I've also made a new 3-minute video explaining one of the most important—and unusual—parts of Rascally Rabbits: The Mystery of the Garden Card!
One of the questions I hear most often is: How can a trick-taking game work when every player only has one card?
In the video, I walk through how players customize their Garden Card at the beginning of each round and explain why those choices are meaningful, strategic, and one of my favorite parts of the game.
Which crop should you weaken? Which numbers should you remove? How should you divide your garden? And how do those decisions affect the tricks you're hoping to win—or avoid?
Thank you again for getting us past our first stretch goal! Spot UV is unlocked, and now we're chasing $10,808 and the No No Bunny! 🐰
Please keep sharing the campaign with your friends and fellow trick-taking fans. Every new backer gets us one hop closer!
Gen Con Adventures, Tornadoes, and We're Almost at Our First Stretch Goal!
Hi everyone!
Last week was a whirlwind in more ways than one!
I flew the Wednesday night red-eye to Indianapolis, landed Thursday morning, and by 2:00 PM I was already teaching my very first game of Rascally Rabbits at Gen Con. It was a busy but incredibly rewarding weekend!
Over the course of the convention, we hosted 18 scheduled events in the Open Gaming area and 4 events in the First Exposure Playtest Hall. From Thursday through Saturday, we were demoing until 10:00 PM every night. It was wonderful meeting so many new players, introducing them to the game, and watching them discover how a one-card trick-taking game actually works. Thank you to everyone who sat down to play, asked questions, laughed with us, and shared your thoughts. I hope you had as much fun playing Rascally Rabbits as I had teaching it!
🌪️ A Tornado Warning... During a Demo!
Saturday night brought one of the most memorable moments of the convention.
While we were demoing in the First Exposure Playtest Hall, a tornado warning was announced. Everyone was instructed to move into interior rooms of the convention center. Fortunately, we were already in one of the safest locations, so we stayed put and continued playing.
As we played, everyone began sharing their own tornado stories and experiences. Growing up in California, tornadoes are something I've only seen on the news, so it was fascinating to hear firsthand accounts from people who have actually lived through them. It certainly made for one of the most unique game sessions I've ever hosted!
Thank You for Your Support
We put a tremendous amount of energy into Gen Con, and while the response wasn't quite as strong as what we experienced at San Diego Comic-Con, every conversation, demo, and new supporter means a great deal to me.
If you played Rascally Rabbits at Gen Con and enjoyed it, I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd consider backing the campaign or sharing it with your fellow gamers. Every pledge helps us continue building momentum and reach more trick-taking fans.
🥕 We're Halfway There!
We're now about halfway through the campaign and getting closer to our first stretch goal! Once we reach it, every copy of Rascally Rabbits will receive a beautiful Spot UV box upgrade, making the finished game look even better on your shelf.
Thank you for helping us get closer every day!
🤔 A Great Question from BoardGameGeek
Someone recently asked a fantastic question on BoardGameGeek, and I liked it so much that I added it to the campaign's Q&A section:
"How meaningful is the decision to pick a trump suit, remove another suit, and cross out numbers? Obviously it defines your options in the game, but do you have any information to help you decide what to pick, or would your outcomes be just as good if you rolled dice to make the decision?"
Without looking at the Q&A, I'd love to hear your thoughts! How would you answer that question? Feel free to leave a comment on the campaign page. I'm always interested in hearing how players think about the strategy behind the game.
New Preview from Boar Gamer
Finally, we're excited to share another preview of Rascally Rabbits! A big thank you to Boar Gamer for taking a look at the game. If you haven't read the preview yet, be sure to check it out:
Thank you all once again for your continued support. Every backer, every demo participant, every share, and every encouraging message helps bring Rascally Rabbits one step closer to more gaming tables around the world.
Last week was an incredible milestone for Rascally Rabbits! We spent all four days at San Diego Comic-Con, demoing the game from morning until the exhibit hall closed each day. It was a busy, exciting, and incredibly rewarding experience. And I'm happy to say it was a huge success!
One of my favorite parts of attending conventions is watching people discover a game for the first time. Many visitors walked up wondering how a one-card trick-taking game could possibly work. A few minutes later, they were smiling, laughing, planning their next moves, and ready to play the next round. Seeing that reaction over and over again reminded me why I designed Rascally Rabbits in the first place.
We introduced the game to hundreds of attendees, received lots of thoughtful feedback, and met trick-taking veterans as well as players who had never played a trick-taking game before. It was especially exciting to see how quickly new players picked up the rules and started developing their own strategies.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who stopped by our demo table, played a game, asked questions, or shared kind words about the project. Your enthusiasm and encouragement mean so much to me, and every conversation helps make the game even better.
One of the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con was getting to visit the booth of the talented artist behind Rascally Rabbits. She was exhibiting her artwork at the convention, and it was wonderful to finally take a photo together at her booth after spending so much time collaborating on the game. It was especially rewarding to see people admire her beautiful illustrations both in the game and as standalone artwork. Rascally Rabbits simply wouldn't have the same charm without her creativity and personality, and I'm incredibly grateful for all the amazing work she brought to the project.
Thank you again for being part of this journey. Your support has helped bring Rascally Rabbits from an idea on my desk to a game that's now being played by hundreds of people at conventions. Every pledge, share, and encouraging message has made a real difference, and I truly appreciate it.
Next stop: Gen Con! 🐰
I'll be catching a Wednesday night red-eye flight and landing in Indianapolis on Thursday morning, ready to jump straight into one of the busiest weekends of the year!
This year, we'll be showcasing Rascally Rabbits all across the convention with:
🐰 18 scheduled events in the Gen Con Event Hall
🎲 4 scheduled events in the First Exposure Playtest Hall
⭐ 1 special demo event at the BackerKit Booth (#363)
If you're attending Gen Con, I'd love for you to stop by and play a game. Whether you've already backed the campaign or are simply curious about how a one-card trick-taking game works, come say hello! It's always one of the highlights of the convention for me to meet fellow gamers, introduce them to my latest design, and hear their thoughts after a game.
I hope to see many of you in Indianapolis. Until then, thank you once again for your incredible support. Let's keep the momentum going, unlock more stretch goals, and bring even more bunny mischief to game tables everywhere! 🥕🐰
The campaign had a slower start than I hoped for, so reaching our funding goal is an especially exciting milestone. Thank you so much to everyone who has backed, followed, shared the campaign, or told a friend about Rascally Rabbits. Your support means the world to me. Now let's keep the momentum going, unlock stretch goals, and make Rascally Rabbits even better together!
Come Play at San Diego Comic-Con!
If you're attending San Diego Comic-Con this week, I'd love to meet you! We'll be demoing Rascally Rabbits throughout the convention in the Mezzanine, Room 15AB. Stop by to learn the game, try out the one-card trick-taking system, and stir up a little bunny mischief with us. Whether you're a longtime trick-taking fan or just curious about the game, everyone is welcome!
Meet the Artist!
The wonderful artist behind Rascally Rabbits is also exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con! Be sure to visit Booth #1707 to see more of their amazing artwork and say hello. Supporting talented artists is one of my favorite parts of creating games, and I'm thrilled we were able to work together on this project.
A Shoutout to No No Puppy!
If you're looking for another fun card game, my game No No Puppy!, published by Dead Alive Games, is now live on Kickstarter! It's a fast, family-friendly bluffing game full of adorable puppies, clever deception, and plenty of laughs. If that sounds like your kind of game, I'd love for you to check it out:
Thank you again for helping make Rascally Rabbits a reality. I can't wait to share more updates as the campaign continues. Here's to unlocking more stretch goals. And if you're at SDCC this week, I hope to see you in the Mezzanine Room15AB! 🐰🥕
