A few years ago, I sketched a navy axolotl in the margin of a notebook at 2 a.m. She was the kind of creature you'd want next to you on a hard night, small enough to fit in a coat pocket but with a whole sky tucked between her gills. After some prototypes, factory visits, and a lot of late-night embroidery tests, Nova is finally ready to come home with you.

Nova is in a midnight navy color, with six fluffy gills in pearl-grey trimmed with iridescent organza that catches light like an oil slick. Her belly is the same velour but lighter; her tail tip is a hand-sewn silver crystal that catches every bedside lamp. Most of all, the back of her head and torso are embroidered with three real constellations.

Real star maps stitched in metallic silver thread across her back and head, including Lyra, Orion, and the Northern Cross.

Six brushed gills layered with a shimmer organza inner, so they catch the light from any angle without feeling tacky.

A crystal tail:

Hand-stitched silver crystal at the tip of her tail, with a satin lining so she can sit upright on any flat surface.

At 16 cm tall she's small enough to ride in a backpack pouch, fit in a car cupholder, or perch on a monitor without wobbling.

We’ll calculate and collect shipping fees through the backer survey sent out after the campaign ends. The chart below gives a good estimated idea of shipping costs. Please note that prices may change over time due to factors outside our control, but we’ll do everything we can to keep shipping as affordable as possible.

The campaign launches on May 10, 2026, and ends on June 11, 2026, when pledges are finalized. Backers will receive a BackerKit survey in late June to confirm shipping details. Production runs from late June to early July with quality checks throughout. Shipping is expected to begin in early July 2026, with orders sent out to U.S., Canadian, and international backers.
