Project Update: Update #12: April 2026 Progress Update
Greetings y’all,
Things are progressing apace over here. I just realized that I have used THE SAME NUMBER for the update number for the last 3 updates, which is one of the sillier things I have done in recent memory. I suppose it makes sense, considering I can't even remember how old I am from year to year.
I’ll run through the project updates in brief:
I’ll run through the project updates in brief:
- Second developmental editing pass on No Gods, No Masters is complete. The zine was in layout for this editing pass, so now it’s just a matter of cleaning things up and massaging a couple of sentences to get it ready for print.
- Due to other commitments, my originally planned artist for interior art on Sphere of Influence was unable to participate in the project. Thankfully, I was able to work out an agreement with another artist pretty quickly, so I’m expecting those pieces by the end of May/beginning of June.
- There were a number of issues with the Greed Is Good patches (the cross-collab reward for backing NGNM and Josh & Michael Kramer’s Grim Merchants) that were unable to be resolved by the manufacturer. I was able to return that batch of patches and had a new run issued with another manufacture, and I think they turned out fantastic:
- I’ve started playing around with generating a print-friendly version of NGNM. This has turned out to be rather more challenging than I anticipated as the zine uses a lot of very rich colors. With that in mind, I moved my timeline for the print-friendly, B&W version to be generated in Jun’26. This will give me a bit more time to make sure that it’s still a handsome piece without having to sacrifice too much.
- Sphere of Influence continues at a pace slower than I would like. For such a small zine, it’s admittedly proving to be a bit of a challenge to write. I’m still confident that I’ll get it out in the next couple of weeks, but I certainly hadn’t anticipated that it would be a bit of a bear.
Those are the big ticket updates for the month. Below is an updated timeline for the project:
Timeline updates:
- May ’26:
- Manuscript of Sphere of Influence off to developmental editing.
- Final edit of Sphere of Influence returned to me for final revisions and proofreading.
- Print-ready version to be prepped once final revisions and proofreading pass are complete.
- Print-ready versions of No Gods, No Masters and Sphere of Influence sent to printer.
- Pre-production review copies anticipated; expect a maximum of 2 passes necessary.
- Manuscript of Sphere of Influence off to developmental editing.
- Jun ’26:
- Print-friendly versions of No Gods, No Masters and Sphere of Influence to be prepared.
- Hyper-linked PDFs of No Gods, No Masters and Sphere of Influence to be prepared.
- All materials planned for shipment to Quartermaster Logistics in preparation for fulfillment.
While I have your attention, there’s a couple of other cool things going on at the moment that I wanted to flag up:
- TripTech Game Jam 3 is currently going on and is a little over halfway through. The original TripTech is how I got started doing this whole thing (and resulted in Foreign Bodies), so I’m absolutely stoked that it’s still going strong. You can check it out here if you’re interested in participating: https://itch.io/jam/triptech3
- Breathless RPG is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. It’s a pretty slick survival-horror RPG with some early ‘90’s aesthetics. If that sounds like your jam, you can back it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mythworks/breathless-frightmare-edition?ref=section-homepage-view-more-discovery-p2&category_id=Q2F0ZWdvcnktMzQ=
- Another season of the Lovecraft Investigations podcast is getting ready to crowdfund on Backerkit soon. They’ve been adapting Lovecraft’s stories into a modern investigative podcast format for a few seasons now, and they are absolutely delightful. You can get on board here if you’re interested: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/julian-simpson/lovecraft-investigations-the-call-of-cthulhu/launch_party
Until next time.
Sincerely,
Nate (ThereWolf! Games)
