Hello, this is my first time playing a ttrpg so I have some questions about how things work. I've played rpg/jrpgs as well as a bit of Baldur's Gate 3. I've also made a charcter for a DND campaign but I've not had the chance to play in one yet because my friend is still working on world building so I only know the rough fundamentals. •Generally speaking, how much material/how in depth should campaign prep be? (I don't want to fall into the same trap as my aforementioned friend where I'm world building indefinitely for months '^ ^) •If I want to play along with the players is it better to make my own PC or perhaps make a 'special' NPC? I did read the Patrons section but they seem more as chance encounters or temporary help for a certain situation before going on cooldown again? •Does anyone know of a community/place where people are sharing their cutsom made content? I have some ideas for Kin/Ways and it'd be nice to be able to share them and maybe get balancing feedback.
