The Countryside is in bloom with the festivities. Bonfires light the sky. Huge fires lit on hilltops to ward off evil spirits and to chase away the cold of the passing winter nights.
You have come for the Festivities. Today, the celebrations are in full swing, with dancing, carnivals and performances, feasting, and the drinking of a special local mead and sparkling wines that are said to possess magical powers to let one see the spirit realms.
But when night falls, the bustling village seems to change. As if the shadows twist and the trees, still skeletal in the night sky seem to reach for you with talon like claws. The locals say that on the night of the feasts, the devils roam. And none dare to stay out once the sun sets.
This year something else stirs in the shadows. A pale moon rises and sheds a bad omen onto the land. The druids and the wizards mutter among themselves as the people cower in their houses, doors barred, windows shuttered tight.
Something ancient has awakened. Something that threatens all that walk in the light of day. Something that was disturbed when the new dam was being built. And you are the only ones who might be powerful enough to face that which crawls in the dark.
