OBAWOLU is a writer, philosopher, and truth-teller born in New York. His debut work, BY DESIGN, is a 194-page collection of memoir, poetry, philosophy, and sacred text — ten years in the making, lived across three continents, written from the inside of a transformation rather than the other side of it.
His work draws from Yoruba cosmology, Andean ayni, Kemetic solar theology, and the Dreamer tradition — not as reference points, but as living frameworks for understanding what a human life is actually doing when it appears to be falling apart.
He has lived what he writes. The loss. The fire. The long silence before the name arrived. BY DESIGN is not a book he decided to write. It is a book he survived long enough to finish.
Currently based in Bali, he is working at the intersection of language, lineage, and liberation — with a mission that extends beyond the page. A percentage of every copy of BY DESIGN goes toward building a community center for young people in Ghana and supporting Youth and the Future, an initiative led by Princess Abumbi Prudence in the Bafut region of Cameroon.
He does not write to be understood. He writes so that those who already understand — but have never had language for it — finally feel less alone.
