CREATOR
All stories are about conflict, but what I like to focus on, and what is a consistent throughline for my stories is this idea of systemic pressure. It's not necessarily about "good guys" versus "bad guys" - though I have plenty of both in my stories. It's about individuals being caught in a moment where the weight of history and the weight of the system (such as, say, the British Empire in the 1770s) presses down on them. It's about the physicality of that conflict, the struggle of an individual finding their footing when the gears of history are turning.

I began writing comics in 2012, beginning with my self-published miniseries, Rotten Roots. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the first issue came out in mid-2013, with subsequent issues following. I have been writing ever since, and am constantly looking for new inspirations and concepts to put down on paper.
I received a Bachelor's in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a Master's in History from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. When not writing comics or tabling at a con, my primary occupation is that of a high school social studies teacher (see, it all comes together now).
I live in Chicago with my beautiful and patient wife Lauren, my incomparable daughters Thea and Willa, and our pet rock Iggy (the igneous rock).
Just kidding. We don't have a pet rock.
