Welcome to Preston's Rainbow Cave, the Backerkit World where two queer nonbinary indie authors and their snake mascot Preston bring you the Backerkit projects from their portfolios.

Snakeskin Press is a queer indie press run by indie authors Jake Vanguard and Ezra Wren, with Preston the Snake as their official mascot. Snakeskin Press is an anti-AI, anti-discrimination, anti-war and anti-genocide press focused on amplifying queer voices and bringing queer rep to your bookshelves through its anthologies, currently in two collections - Snakeskin Tales and Snakeskin Voices. You can find out more about our first two publications here on Backerkit.

Jake Vanguard (they/them) is a queer nonbinary author from Germany who writes queer fiction, primarily within fantasy subgenres and with a focus on found family, human relationships and diverse queer rep. You can find out more about their first backed project OMEN here on Backerkit or check out their other published work here.

Ezra Wren (they/them) is a queer nonbinary author from Malta living in Norway and writing queer romance in many subgenres. Their favorite themes to explore are the human condition, found family and the power of choice. You can expect a Backerkit project from Ezra very soon. In the meantime, you can check out their published work here.

Both Jake and Ezra have contributed stories to the anthologies published by Snakeskin Press. Jake is also the formatter and cover designer for Snakeskin while Ezra is the editor, and both of them curate each story collaboratively.
