MORIAH is a simple role-playing game of ordinary people facing the extraordinary. It is a game of sacrifice, where people living quiet lives at the base of a holy mountain must attempt to ascend it in order to ask for the mercy of the gods.
The gods are angry. You can quell their wrath. You know the road to mercy. You must answer the question, "What are you willing to give?"
MORIAH is a game of sacrifice and belief. Of a dangerous pilgrimage to the peak of a holy mountain, and of the what you will give in order to make this ascent. As players, you are cast in the role of ordinary folk seeking the ear of the gods in hope of preventing the ruin of your world. You will need to face down the Trials of the mountain while evening the odds by offering your bodies, your memories, and possibly even your lives to overcome what awaits you.
The game includes:
A sacrifice mechanic that sees you weighing up life and limb in order to overcome the challenges before you.
A simple DICE mechanic that evolves the more that you give, going from the humble d4 to the divine d100.
The means to become a DEITY, testing the players who were once your friends for their worthiness.
Challenges that span the breadth of flora, fauna, demonic, and divine, to be overcome with the use of DICE.
**As a general content warning: MORIAH does contain themes of sacrifice, blood, and death. It is necessary that before you begin play, as a table you all go over your limits. What you are and aren’t willing to have mentioned in the game. Whether you will scale back the level of violence, or speak of it in metaphor or in passing. At any point, you are allowed to interrupt play and express your discomfort, or to opt out of a given Challenge or experience as necessary.
It is a game of deep connection, of personal bonds, of love in all its strange and myriad forms and the things that we do for love. Safety tools are also referenced in the base text in order to create a safe roleplaying environment for everyone present.
