The Goblin's Tarot welcomes you, those beginning your tarot journey and those well-versed alike, as the first standard tarot from Publishing Goblin, the creator of the Alleyman's Tarot, Misery Tarot, Hot Housewives Tarot, Alleyway Tarot, and (humorously) the Normal Tarot in all its 4 versions. Never has a standard, 78-card, matching tarot been made by the Goblin until now.

And it arrives in green shimmering glory. With gorgeous green foil designs and sharing illustration work by Sam Dow (Gold Normal Tarot, What We Possess), The Goblin's Tarot approaches the Fool's Journey of the standard tarot in a new light, following the Publishing Goblin's choice to abandon their godhood and embrace mortality and live among the mortals of Ajurea, the world that they call home.

This deck carries reminder phrases on the cards to help you learn the tarot, and mirrors elements of the most standard deck in use, the Rider-Waite-Smith, either in posing, compositions, or art elements. You don't have to learn another deck first before you learn this one; this can be the beginning of your journey. And for long-time readers, this will be a deck that can stand in for any standard deck you've ever used, with incredibly alive new illustrations from Sam Dow.

The Goblin's Tarot comes in two forms. Either as just the deck box, which is the deck with its little white book of meanings in its magnet-close deck box; or, the full set in the sleeve. The full set is a book sleeve that fits the deck box perfectly, as well as a full 6x9" linen hardcover guidebook with two page spreads for each card in the deck.

The Goblin's Tarot deck is a standard, 2.75"x4.75" tarot deck of the regular 78 gloss-finish cards. Each card features a green foil border that really pops in the light. It comes in a magnet-close deck box that seats the deck in two halves with ribbons that make pulling the cards out easier. Over top the two halves of the deck is a 4.75x6" (larger than normal) little white book. This is a black and white simple paper booklet that features card meanings in a smaller form, so even if you get the deck on its own without the larger guidebook, you will still have meanings accessible to you!

You will also note that at the bottom of each card, small and unobtrusive, each card features some keywords or a keyphrase to help you either learn the card meanings, or to help you remember them if you're already well-versed. They are color matched to a color in the card's art to help them not take over the composition.

This deck is ideal for long-time readers as well as first-time readers who need a deck to learn on.

Then there's the full-sized guidebook that comes in the full set. This 6x9" hardcover, linen bound book features gold foil design on its front. Within its 200 pages you'll find a helpful primer on what Tarot is, how tarot readings work, helpful guides on how to perform readings, reading spreads theoretical and in practice with samples, and of course, full page meanings for each card in the deck. These meaning spreads also feature the full art on the opposite page, giving you a lovely look at Sam's work.

The guidebook also tells you more about the story behind the deck, dealing with the Goblin's Journey to accept their mortality. While this gives additional insight to the art and world behind the deck, know that this deck works just as well as a divination tool without that knowledge.

At this time, the files for the deck, guidebook, and box are all prepared. We have samples in hand. We are waiting for your help to fund the manufacturing, and then we're all-set to make and ship this deck! That said, it still takes time for funds to come in, for manufacturing to happen, and for shipping addresses to get locked in.

So for this project, we are looking to begin manufacturing as soon as funds from this project get into our hands. Then, shipping will quickly thereafter. Knowing that we will likely rub up against the Chinese New Year in February, we will be looking to ship decks out to backers in April/May, hoping to manage it even sooner as able.

Sam Dow is the incredible artist behind all the visual work on the Goblin's Tarot.

Sam has previously illustrated Furiously Prognosticating, the first edition cover for the Goblin's Oracle Dice, and the entirety of the Gold Normal Tarot. Sam is a visionary talent at taking words and turning them into entrancing imagery, and it was through Sam that this deck found its heart. Every illustration breathes with the width of a world, all thanks to their work.
