We're now one week post-campaign! We took the time to rest a bit and finish our current fulfillment project (270+ books is a lot of books)! We're still pretty stunned with how the campaign went, and we're extremely happy to have you all on board!
If you missed it and want to add Last Hope to your collection, the Late Pledges are open!
For those with digital-only tiers that would receive the maps as freebies, we have an estimate for the shipping! Usually, it's between 2$ (Canada), 4$ (US) and 6$ (international) depending on the destination. We're still, however, discussing if we can offer free shipping on digital only pledges for the map (this will depend on the number of people who receive it as a freebie).
Some Stuff
Most of you should have received your surveys for the Pledge Manager. So, why are we sending it so early even if the game is not completed? Well, since we have to print the game in both French and English, we need an average (but as accurate as possible) count for both languages to plan our budget allocation for both books!
As a very small publisher, we need the funds to make the game and Hardcovers are very expensive to make, especially with the improved printing quality! Worry not! Everyone, including retailers, that backed the campaign has a book (there's quite many spares). The quantities will be limited though, so if you wish to acquire a hardcover book, they will be available until they're depleted (if there's leftovers post-release, we will be adding them to our store)!
We've also added a softcover version of Last Hope to the pre-order store for those who would like to acquire a physical version. It wasn't planned in the base campaign, but people asked if it was a possibility, and we were able to provide! If you were on the fence due to the price of the Hardcover book, there's now an option for you (and the quantities are not limited)!
The number of available Heart Stickers has been increased, since they were way more popular than anticipated (ノ^_^)ノ゚
On another note, we can still unlock our final Stretch Goals! We currently put a 2 months timer, we'll see how it goes. These items will NOT be charged to you unless we unlock them and we're able to launch production.
VTT System - This will be the hardest to unlock, but making a real, working VTT system+Module is expensive! We would need at least 370 people "picking it up" to be able to produce it!
Character Miniatures (Printed options for 3-5 minis and commercial tier will be added if there's enough interest, you will be able to modify your pledge before we charge the cards). We would need at least 170 people "picking it up" to be able to produce it!
Monster Miniatures (Printed options for 3-5 minis and commercial tier will be added if there's enough interest, you will be able to modify your pledge before we charge the cards). We would need at least 170 people "picking it up" to be able to produce it!
The current safe date for release is DECEMBER 2027. This date is up for modifications depending on how fast artists work. There is a lot of illustrations to be done, and crunch really isn't weaved into our work philosophy.
Thank you all for your trust, your patience, and your support. We're incredibly grateful to all of you, and we hope that you have an amazing week!
Hum, that's about it for this update! We will soon have news about the Soundtrack, stay tuned ( ̄▽ ̄)/♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪ We're also building the document for Lex to write the starting scenario, exciting stuff are coming!
Today's the day, the release of the first 6 Community Crypts. By the time you read this, you should have had a Backerkit email with a link to them. If not you'll find them here, but only if you've completed your survey here.
You can check out a quick timelapse of one of the crypts being drawn on Youtube, link here.

Anyone who hasn't yet managed to get their hands on the downloads, please drop me and email and let me know if I can help.
For those of you who are Backers, please keep reading to find out how to join the Word Dungeon Discord server.
I’m very pleased to say that the new content is with my sensitivity reader for review! I'll pop them through any names received via survey after this point so those can be checked as well. A very generous friend has agreed to give the game another once-over with their editor’s eye, and I’ve reached out to my accessibility consultant to see when they might be available as well. So things are certainly progressing!
I’ve now cancelled all the failed pledges and sent reminders out to folks who have yet to complete their surveys. We’re about 85% of the way through gathering responses! But as a good chunk of the remaining surveys are for the physical books, I’ve also been thinking quite hard about what to do if they don’t end up being completed for whatever reason. Likewise, for those who backed at digital-only tiers but have also yet to complete surveys.
At this stage I’m planning on providing an update when I’m getting closer to ordering the physical books, then not long after that will start refunding and closing off any pledges with incomplete surveys. I'll do this around the same time as I start locking the completed surveys for folks with physical book orders, so will be including a heads up there as well.
Unfortunately, it’s just not economical for me to do a small print run later or to have too much excess stock of the physical books. I also don’t want folks to be charged for something they aren’t able to receive because their surveys are incomplete, whether that’s physical or digital. So, a refund feels like the most reasonable option.
But in more positive news, the updates to the game layout have also given me an opportunity to make some improvements to the back cover! I’d gotten some good tips from my accessibility consultant for future updates and have put those into practice in the present! This includes changing up font sizes to be more comfortable to read, removing some of the effects on the text, reducing the use of uppercase text, etc. You’ll also see I’ve now added the human made logo by Hinokodo to help make it even easier to tell this was a book written by one horror-loving human, for fellow horror lovers.
Now that you've got your hands on One Hundred Dungeons*, it's time for the Community Crypts.
During the campaign we had 35 crypt submissions and today I've drawn and laid out the first 6. My plan is to release 6(ish) per week over the next 5 weeks, starting this Sunday. They'll be in print and interactive formats.
This week we have the following backers to thank...
Grubmeyer | Around the bend
Don't Eat Puzzles | Blackened Warrens
Arcie | Unbearable
Lee Hennessy | Charmian’s Lair
Tubedog | Black Sapphire Storage
Ford Alpha | The Mitten
Week 1
You're in for a real treat with these community dungeons. The care and thought that has gone into them is so lovely! This week my highlight is 'The Mitten', you'll see why when you get the puzzles.
Make sure you share your adventures with me on social media or via email. I'll also be opening the Discord to new members (watch out for a link) so you can share your games in there too!
I did it, I just released the One Hundred Dungeon digital files, along with the add-on files. That was pretty nerve-wracking. I then went and printed them out on fancy paper and took some nice pictures...
Front Cover
Of course you don't need to print them out, and certainly not on fancy paper. And the gemstone, coins and key are just for show.
If you're thinking "I've not had my email about the download yet." that's probably because you haven't completed the survey. You can find it here, it only takes about 30 seconds to complete. After completion your files will be with you by the end of the day.
Here's another pretty photo...
Fancy paper close-up
Now starts the work on the interactive version. I'm going to try hard to get that finished before the end of the week. It'll be added to the downloads and I'll send out a link when it's ready.
One more image...
Dungeons Thirteen & Fourteen
If anyone get's chance to play, please take pictures. If you're on Instagram, you can share them with the @word.dungeon account!
Enjoy your games, reach out if you have any questions.

Hey sexy backers 🥰
We want to thank everyone who was here for this crowdfunding! You did way more than we expected and this is so cool!! We took a little rest after the end of the campaign, but now we are gonna work on what's coming next.
What's Coming next
Month of June will be dedicated to drawing and finishing the little stickers for the cross-promo backers, and setting up the pledge manager. We also plan on opening a "pre-order" store on backerkit, so people can still buy the game before we print it (some people who missed the campaign contacted me 😉). I plan on finishing the book layout in July and start printing the books in August. For the cards, it will take a bit more time, i'd like to finish the layout in September, for a printing before the end of the year. (We will probably be able to ship a first round of books for people who did not order the deck of cards at the end of summer... I'm not sure yet about what are the backerkit options on this, but we will keep you posted!)
Meanwhile, please check that your pledge has gone through on backerkit ☺️
Thank you again, and have a nice day!
Nimaël (and the cool team: Rook, Vlad & Logan)

Bonjour sexy contributeurices 🥰
Thank you to everyone who has already filled in your surveys. We’ve gotten a substantial number of responses and some wonderful name suggestions for the book already! I was so inspired by the pet names that I’ve decided to include something a little special in the lore handouts. A connection between Jubilation and another setting I’ve been writing and imagining for almost as long as this strange little town.
I’m pleased to say I've written the first drafts of all the lore handouts now. Since I’ve got more wiggle room in the layout, I’m expanding the existing history handouts at the same time. I’ll be running the content past my sensitivity consultant for review once I finish refining the drafts, hopefully at the same time as getting for their review of the names lists.
From there my goal is to order a test print of the books, as that will tell me whether anything needs tweaking. As we’re also at the point where we only have a handful of failed pledges left, I’ll soon be cancelling those so I can get a better idea of final numbers.
This morning I finished the interactive PDF version of One Hundred Dungeons!
When you open them up in Adobe Acrobat, they'll look a bit like this. The puzzles will also work in other PDF viewers. There's a little bit of guidance in the download, make sure to read it and then reach out if you have any difficulties.
Done!
The interactive download will be released later today to all backers who have completed the survey.
