Thanks to our amazing backers we've hit our £12K stretch goal with a few hours to spare!
That means we'll be bundling in four A6 sized art prints with all physical orders. Excellent.
The four images chosen by backers are below; these are some of my favourites from the 12 that Luke Oram has created for this project so you have all got good taste!
If you've not backed yet then there's still a couple of hours on the clock, but I've done more than enough badgering of you all so I'm going to shut up now.
Thank you all for such an excellent campaign, can't wait to get these zines and calendars into production!
We're into the final 72 hours of our campaign already. Wild.
What to update you all with?
Trapped on Schrödinger's Moon zine
The zine script has been sent over to my editor for the editing pass, so that's moving along nicely. Once that comes back I'll implement any changes and then we're off into layout asap.
Calendar test prints
I recieved a couple of calendar test prints early this week to get a feel for paper options. It's looking sweet! I think we're going for a nice combo of textured cover paper and a thinner, retro off white inner to add to the retro feel of the whole package. Off the back of these prints we've been chatting through a few ways to make the lower half of the calendar look more branded and retro too, and a slight reordering of the months/artwork so it flows better. Almost ready to hit print on this run already though, so can't wait to get these ordered up.
Behold, a gif:
You would not believe how long this gif took me to make
Limited run
This Backerkit will be the only option to grab yourself one of the World of Tomorrow calendars unless I see you at Dragonmeet in November. Due to the tight turnaround I won't be running any kind of preorder after the campaign. At the moment I'm looking at a limited run of probably 250 of these in total, so if you fancy grabbing something very exclusive this is your chance!
Stretch goals
We're sitting at a tally just a bit over £10k at the moment, currently quite a bit away from our next 12k stretch goal for adding another couple of art prints to all physical backer tiers. I'd love it if we could hit the £12k mark (or beyond!) in this final stretch so I can get Luke Oram's artwork out to as many backers as possible. Much of the calendar art won't feature in the zine, so this is a way for those that haven't backed the calendar to still grab some of this amazing artwork.
So if you like, please share the project with anyone you think would love a time bending paradox module for Mothership!
Poll winner for art print three was July - Catastrophe:
And our final poll is between:
November - Organic processing
A billion human brains shall be wired into a single biomechanics computer, seeding our
intelligence across the stars. Humanity as fuel. Batteries. Organic processing power.
United as one.
A Choir of Echoes.
And
December - The godhead
You will worship us.
Be subservient. Thankful.
It is inevitable.
So hopefully we can hit that £12k and get one of these added as an additional A6 art print.
Two weeks in and we're almost hitting our £10K stretch goal!
This was for Offset Printing, a stretch goal that I now realise is JUST NOT EXCITING ENOUGH. It gives me nothing to talk about, beyond using phrases like 'product quantity', 'increased accuracy' and 'colour vibrancy' I'm sorry. Must try harder.
Since we're so close to starting the £12K stretch goal of two more A6 art prints, the new poll for that is below!
Other Cool Things
The Mothership Month '26 Jump-9 Writers Grant began accepting submissions last week. If you are a new creator and thinking about applying, I've written some tips and thoughts that might help you with your application, or project planning further down the line, HERE.
There's some cool new books and zines for Mothership launched recently, go check out 9CirclesHERE and LiquidationHERE (just launched!).
Art Print Polls!
Print number 2 has been decided! The poll received a staggering 60 votes, 19 more than poll no.1 and probably enough to win Eurovision (I think, could be wrong). The runaway winner this time was August - Data Centres:
In the future Data Centres will result in many jobs, lower taxes and wealth for all!
The options for print no. 3 are:
May - Politics
It is now commonplace for an actor, reality TV star or sitcom personality to enter into politics and become the leader of a country.
Our AI predictions tell us the logical next step: an entirely fictional character will become a world leader.
Our image shows Rambo McLean, who we think would be a fantastic fictional Head of State. He’s a tough guy that ‘gets the job done.' He would be a character performed by a famous A-list actor, or perhaps even be entirely AI generated!
Doesn’t he look cool? We think he would be really popular regardless of policies.
Or
July - Catastrophe
Unfortunately there is a 90% chance of a cataclysmic event in humanity’s future.
Our software predicts a ‘world-ending’ event, most likely a thermonuclear war. It’s almost inevitable.
Don’t worry!
Rainforest AI is already developing ways to safeguard and harness humanity through the difficult times coming.
The underwater city shown here is one such example—shielding the humans from nuclear contamination on the surface.
We shall prevent the humans from fighting and protect them as a valuable resource.

Like a teen creeping through a gap in a wire fence in a laboured sub-plot in Stranger Things, overnight Trapped on Schrödinger’s Moon snuck across the £8K funding mark, so we’ve hit our first stretch goal!
Two A6 art prints featuring the art from the World of Tomorrow calendar will now be included with all print pledges.
I’ve been running a poll to choose the first art print and the results are in! There was a total of 41 votes, which I think is enough to win a by-election down in England (might be wrong) so thanks to all backers for being so engaged.
The runaway winner with 33 votes was October - Conquer the Cosmos:
The new poll to choose art print no. 2 is below, all backers can vote.
The options are:
April: Medicine
The medicine of the future will be able to do all kinds of things, keeping humans healthy, strong and physically attractive.
Cosmetic enhancements will be commonplace. AI will be used to find determine the perfect appearance— curated instantly from current social media trends—and apply these physical changes in minutes, with barely a need for human surgeons.
Soon everyone is going to be 'officially' good-looking!
August: Data Centres
While humanity is kept safely protected, our robots will rebuild the new world.
Data centre citadels will be ready and waiting to employ humanity.
Many years of AI infrastructure will have removed the need for personal knowledge or skills, so the humans will be grateful for all we provide for them.
Choose below! If we get hit all our stretch goals then this will tally up to a cool collection of 6 postcard sized images for all physical backers.
The next stretch goals is a printing upgrade - at £10K it’ll be a viable quantity for us to go with an offset print run. There’ll be more polls coming for the next pair or art print images at £12K.
Thanks for following along with us thus far and for backing if you’ve backed. We even made it to the front page headline slot on Backerkit.com not once but twice last week, which was some buzz 🐝
