Project Update: Super Snarf News!

=THE SKINNY=
Today when I pulled up to my house after church I was blown away to see 21 boxes of Snarfs on my porch! This means we're able to start prepping them to ship out to you! This includes QCing each knife, labeling and marking the serial numbers on the boxes, then sorting all our orders and assigning serial numbers according to the order in which our backers purchased the knife. It's a time-intensive process and for the moment it's just me working on the knives (more on that below), but this is great news and brings us much closer to getting Snarf into your hands!

I've not had a chance yet to do inventory on what all has arrived vs. what else we're waiting on, but I know for sure we're still waiting on the Mystery Snarf and all the utility blades. After talking with Laura at Scikio it sounds like the blades will start arriving in batches next week, so I'm hoping by the time we have all the knives QC'd, labeled, and organized by serial number we'll have enough utility blades to actually start sending out knives! I'm still waiting on an ETA for the Mystery Snarf, but I'll give an update as soon as I have that.

So this is a great step forward and means the finish line is in sight, so thank you so much for your patience and support!

=THE DEETS=
This past week has been absolutely brutal, starting with Melody becoming severely ill last Sunday night. You may remember that I made the decision to go full-time with AKT last October after Melody was diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome. That diagnosis told us that the significant setbacks we had been experiencing with Melody's health was not just a phase but the new normal. So going full-time with AKT would mean I could work from home as she does and be there to provide her better support.

The months since then have been ups and downs, and she's experienced some really great weeks when her new meds have been dialed in. Unfortunately this last week was a significant down week, with Melody losing complete mobility. Occasionally her condition will affect her hearing, but this time when she lost hearing in her left ear she developed severe vertigo-like symptoms. This of course meant she needed constant monitoring and care. After a week of this, she's starting to recover enough to be able to walk by herself, but I mention all of this to say that I'm hesitant to project too much on our Snarf shipping schedule because I don't know how her recovery will affect my schedule, not to mention that she's always a big part of shipping prep.

I also just want to give another shoutout to you fine folks for making all this happen (my availability, not Melody's illness! 🤘😅). Your support has allowed me to go full-time which means I didn't have to take off a week from my previous job to care for Melody, and it means I'm able to work odd hours when she's been stable. So thank you all for being a part of making this dream come true and giving me the opportunity to serve my family!

-Michael

PS - now that we have Snarf in house, expect more frequent updates since now the ball is in our court. It's always difficult to give progress reports during the production phase because we don't have a lot of photos or direct personal experience of how things are progressing, but now that everything is hands-on on our end, keep an eye out for more news coming at ya!
