Paranormal Romance Royalty is almost here! Before it launches, we wanted to give you a look at the collection and the options you'll have so you feel ready to back! (Apologies if you already got this email--a number of people reached out to say they didn't get it, so we're resending again as an update so the information is findable on the prelaunch page!)

At Bonkers Romance, we set out to celebrate bold, fearless storytelling—the kind of big swings that push a genre forward. With this project, we’re going back to where it all began…and opening the door for a whole new readership to step inside.

The fingerprints from these five authors and these five books can be found on an entire generation of writers. These are your favorite author’s favorite authors!

Whether you’ve loved these stories for years or are discovering them for the very first time, you can’t miss this celebration of bold storytelling.

Each luxurious foil-stamped linen hardcover will feature sprayed edges, illustrated endpapers, and ribbon bookmarks. The complete set will also come housed in a gorgeous coordinating slipcase. 

In fact, we'd like to crawl inside your brain and experience them again for the first time. 

Although all five books are part of larger worlds, each one features its own central romance and deeply satisfying happily-ever-after. You'll have no trouble starting the series with any of these books...but we dare you to try to stop there!

Don't stress! It functions just like a pre-order for a book box! You choose what you want while the campaign is running, but no one will be charged until the campaign ends on September 5th. You're free to change your selections around as much as you like until that date when you get charged. We think there's a solid chance we'll ship everything early, but to be safe (and impress you later), we're estimating that we'll ship in June. We've got a proven track record of fulfilling projects on time with happy backers.

When the project opens, you’ll start by choosing one of three tiers. We've kept it incredibly simple:

Art Cards—$10

This is the tier to pick if you just want the set of 5 art prints or if you want access to the rest of the add-ons á la carte. 

Just the books, then you'll have the option of picking add-ons á la carte! When the signed sets sell out, the new tier will be clearly marked as digitally signed. There won't be a cost difference between signed and digitally signed.

The books and all of the merch from this campaign in a single tier. Treat yourself to the whole gorgeous box of goodies!

Once you've picked a tier, you'll have access to the Add-Ons page to customize your pledge!

There will be more detail about everything on the project page once we launch!

BackerKit's Pay Over Time option allows backers pledging $150 or more to split their payment into four monthly installments after our campaign ends.

At the end of our campaign (September 5th), you'll be charged the first 25% of your total pledge, then the other installments are charged monthly over four months. Your pledge is confirmed immediately, and you'll receive all rewards alongside other backers once fulfillment begins.

There's no interest or additional fees, just a more accessible way to back the projects you love!

Option 1: A very steamy shower...

He stepped in behind her. She was already soaked, hair plastered to the elegant slope of her back. Her bottom was perfectly curved, full enough to overflow in his hands. He liked that, liked that she wasn’t skin and bones.

“So lovely,” he said, but doubt suddenly filled him. Should he turn her around, or hold her like this? Should he lay her down or let her stand? His first shower with a woman, and he wasn’t exactly sure of the best way to go about it.

Mine. Do…everything.

As instinct and thousands of years of fantasies took over, he closed all hint of distance between them and rubbed his erection in the crevice of her a--. She gave a shuddering gasp. He reached around her and grabbed the pine-scented bar of soap he used every morning to wash away the lingering effects of his midnight trials.

She tried to turn around, to face him, but he locked her in place by resting his chin on top of her head. At first she stiffened. Gradually, though, she relaxed against him. 

“Wh-what?”

“I’m going to take you against the wall, each stroke measured. Deep. No longer two bodies but one.”

She would have melted into a puddle if he hadn’t caught her. He did that to her, felled her with his beautiful words. Her arms wound around his neck, locking them together. Eternity in his arms wouldn’t have been enough.

His lips descended to hers and he fed her a kiss that was slow and sweet, hot and needy. Step by step, he backed her into the wall as he’d promised. Cool stone pressed into her naked back and she gasped.

He was on his feet before she could blink, staring down at her with his eyes on fire, a collage of red, black and purple. Without a word, he swooped her up and tossed her onto the bed. Cool silk slid over her heated skin. And then he was on top of her, pinning her down. His weight was surprisingly luscious and more sensual than she could ever have anticipated.

Golden light bathed him, created a halo. He really was an angel just then. Her angel. Her savior and her lover. “Take off your pants,” she commanded.

It's time to vote on the vellum overlay artwork for Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night! Which scene with Bowen and Mariketa do you want to bring to life?

Our artist, @skaiwitch, has provided a loose sketch for each of the three scene options. This is a glimpse behind-the-scenes into how the art comes together. The earliest sketches can be a little hard to envision what the final will look like, so as an example of other art we've made with skaiwitch, here's how the first sketch looked along with the finished product! This example art is not from this book!

He was so frustrating! Cute. Sweet. Goddamn lovable. He could have any woman who didn’t have a fear of heights. But he was worried about being too boring for her? 

God, she needed boring. If boring meant stable and loving and caring. If it meant taking care of those you loved. Then, yeah, the dude was boring. 

The kind of “boring” she’d always wanted in her life. From the moment Charlie had been conceived, everything about her life was a surprise. Even her. Never had anyone been with her just because they wanted to be. Things had worked out, even when she’d been dumped on some unsuspecting person’s doorstep—like her grandfather—but it would have been great to know she’d always been wanted. Always been needed. And not just because she could kill twenty people in a room without working up a sweat.

And to her shock . . . she’d finally found that. In a bear who was a triplet. 

Could she stay around forever? She still didn’t know. But while she was here . . .

Charlie moved in and kissed Berg. Without warning. Just grabbed him and kissed him. Because she wanted to and she knew he wouldn’t mind. 

And, boy, did he not mind.

His big arms wrapped around her and lifted her up so that she could wrap her legs around his waist and dig her fingers into his hair. That great, thick sexy bear hair. 

“Come home with me,” he whispered when he pulled away. 

The party was still going on and her sisters couldn’t be more secure. So she kissed him again and that seemed to be the only answer he needed.

Berg wanted to get her upstairs but he only got her as far as the wall beside the stairs. That’s where he pinned her, still kissing her, but now with his hands moving all over her.

She pulled his T-shirt off, forcing him to stop long enough so she could get it over his head. Charlie tossed it aside and then removed her own, her bra quickly following.

Then she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and he knew she’d wanted to feel him skin to skin. Her hands moved over his shoulders, down his arms, back up to his shoulders again.

She dragged her short nails against the tight muscles in his neck. 

Berg growled, unable to help himself, praying she didn’t get scared off. Then again, this was the woman who’d told Sissy Mae Smith, “I don’t know you.” The entire party had been talking about it . . . the bears laughing. Mostly because the She-wolf had been so insulted.

But that was not a woman who was going to be frightened off by some growling. Or a little snarling. Or fangs brushing against her shoulder. 

He was right, too. It didn’t scare her off. It turned her on. 

Scene 3: Making out on the couch!

She continued to kiss him, his body rigid beneath her. 

Maybe he’d suggested getting some sleep because once he was alone with her, he wasn’t really interested. Didn’t really want to be bothered with a crazy female and her even crazier sisters and the psychotic family they belonged to despite the fact the family wanted nothing to do with Charlie and her siblings. 

What sane male wanted to be part of all that?

Realizing she’d made a mistake, Charlie started to pull away, but he must have felt it. Must have felt her retreat because his big hands suddenly framed her face and he kissed her back. Hard and wonderfully overwhelming. 

His tongue slid into her mouth, tangled with hers, while he pulled her onto his lap. 

All sleepiness and doubt wiped from her mind, Charlie could only think about getting Berg Dunn’s clothes off. She went for his T-shirt first, gripping the fabric with her hands and lifting, revealing abs and a chest that Charlie had assumed she’d only find in comic book hero movies. 

Berg pulled back and lifted his arms so she could remove his shirt, then quickly returned, kissing her again, like he was trying to crawl inside her. Become one with her.
