Project Update: Companion app now available (and other news)
Top of the morning, folks!
Here I am again with your weekly update, and today we have a major release.
Here I am again with your weekly update, and today we have a major release.
The companion app is here
The second of our stretch goals is now available: the first version of the Triple-O Companion App.
I call it an app, but technically you can use it both online and offline. It's just a single HTML file, so if you'd like, you can save it locally and run it on your computer without an internet connection.
I started sketching ideas for this companion app a couple of months ago and explored a few different directions. Then I remembered I had already built something similar with the help of a friend for Weird, Whimsy & Wonder. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I adapted the same framework, fed it with Triple-O's tables, customized the visuals, and added a few new features along the way.
Fun fact: did you know you can make wavy lines with CSS? I certainly didn't. One quick search later and I couldn't resist adding them to the header.
The result is a clean, fast way to access all of Triple-O's tools in one place. You can roll Triple-O Checks (including the Double-Down feature), access all spark and specific tables, jot notes and copy results in a built-in scratchpad, and even manage up to six characters using the integrated Trait Sheets. It's really, really cool.
You can find it on the same Itch.io page as the PDFs. The last "file" in the downloads section is actually a link that takes you to the hosted version.
To make things easier, I'll also include the direct link in the exclusive backer content below this update. For your eyes only. π

I'm really excited about this one.
Personally, I still love using the book, rolling physical dice, and scribbling notes on paper. But I know that sometimes you're on the go, playing with limited table space, or simply prefer having everything on a tablet or phone. This gives you another option without replacing the physical experience.

Physical copies are arriving
On the physical side of things, copies have started reaching backers.
I've already seen a few photos appearing on social media, and I absolutely love it. If your copy arrives and you feel like sharing it, please tag me. Seeing something that started as an idea on my desk show up in the real world never gets old.
If your copy hasn't arrived yet, don't worry. Fulfillment is still underway. There may be a slight slowdown this week as Critical Kit is attending UKGE, but shipments should continue moving through the next phases starting next week.
> About Customs Fees
I've also received a few reports from European backers regarding customs clearance fees. In principle, those charges should not be happening. VAT has already been paid by us, and there shouldn't be any additional fees due upon delivery.
Unfortunately, postal services occasionally misclassify shipments or incorrectly apply charges. When that happens, we're handling cases individually and working with Critical Kit to resolve them as quickly as possible. I know it's frustrating when it occurs, but please know we're doing our best to make sure everything arrives smoothly.

One small PDF fix
Finally, a quick note regarding the color PDF without the beige background that I released last week.
It was kindly pointed out to me (thanks, Phil!) that the table of contents was completely broken. I've fixed the issue and uploaded a corrected version. All bookmarks and internal links should now work properly. If you're using that version, feel free to download it again from Itch.io.
That's all I have for today.
I hope you enjoy the companion app, and I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Talk soon,
βCezar
