Pay Over Time Backers
For those doing the pay over time option, we have had many questions about accessing your survey. You will receive your survey when you complete your last pledge payment in July. And do not fear, fulfillment does not begin until the fall, so you aren’t missing out on any rewards by completing the survey this summer!
More Questions
As we wrap up this phase of the campaign, we just want to address some common questions that we did not initially address directly in our FAQs.
Why is there another charge to complete my backer survey?
When the campaign closed, you were charged for your pledge only. We use the backer survey to input your shipping address, correct incorrect payment info, and collect shipping charges for your pledge and add-ons. Charges collected at this stage also include state taxes for those located in the U.S..
Why haven’t I received my survey?
This comes down to one key issue–surveys are only available after the payment has been completed for your pledge. If you haven’t received your survey, it is possible that:

1) Your payment failed, and if it did you should have received an email inviting you to resubmit payment.Â
2) You are using the pay over time option. In this case, you will receive your survey after you complete your payments in July.
Additionally, those who purchase pledge rewards and add-ons through the pre-order store alone will not receive a survey as that information is collected immediately upon checkout.
Why are you asking for my address if I am only receiving digital products?
Since we will be distributing the New Secret Project audiobooks via Audible where possible, we had to ask for addresses from all digital backers. We did this so we don't accidentally send Audible codes to regions where Audible is not supported. While this does not directly affect ebook only backers, we did not have the option to only ask this to audiobook backers. As a result, we had to ask everyone.

Please complete your survey by the end of the month. It’s important that these are completed soon, since we’ll use those numbers to start ordering our epic products!
Reminders
Only make additions to your pledge through your backer survey—you will have access to the same selection of add-ons as our pre-order store and this is where you will pay for shipping.
For those using the pay over time option, just a reminder that you will not have access to your backer survey until your four payments have been collected. Don’t worry—we will order sufficient quantities of campaign items to cover all of our backers. Once those surveys are sent, we will post an update reminding you to complete your survey and make the final payment for shipping.
Make sure you keep an eye out for updates in the coming months! These are how we communicate key campaign related information, and we’ll also be sharing exciting pictures as we receive samples and final designs.

If someone missed the campaign, we still want to give them a chance to pledge and join the Knights Radiant. Our pre-order store is now live and will stay open for late pledges until April 30 at 5pm MDT. All items included in our pre-order store should match those available during the campaign, with the exception of The Way of Kings leatherbound—due to your amazing enthusiasm during the campaign, we don't have enough copies to include in our pre-order store. Though the storm has nearly passed, join us as we enjoy the riddens.Â
Orders placed during the late pledge period will still have access to reduced backer pricing and eligible orders will still receive our backer-exclusive pin! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to receive a copy of Isles of the Emberdark and a signed copy of the Words of Radiance Leatherbound. And have you seen those plushies?!
Backer Surveys Are Coming in a Week
If you have already backed this project, you will gain access to the same selections of add-ons as the pre-order store through your backer survey. Please note: BackerKit needs to finish charging cards and importing your pledge, so survey emails will be sent out next week. You’ll use this survey to finish your pledge and pay for shipping. Don’t place an order in the pre-order store until you receive that email, as you may end up paying for something you have already purchased.
Pay Over Time Backers
Those who placed orders using the pay over time option will gain access to their backer survey after all of their payments have been processed. While our pre-order store will close for late pledges on April 30, all the same add-ons will still be accessible to you through your backer survey. We anticipate that these add-ons will remain in stock through the spring and summer, so don’t worry! You’ll still get the chance to select additional items for your pledge if desired.

Survey questions - This is where you will select your Knight Radiant Order for the Radiant pack included with applicable pledge tiers.
Add-ons - This is when you'll be able to add available add-ons to your pledge if you have not already done so.
Shipping details - You will provide your shipping address and pay for shipping charges at this time.
Your rewards cannot be fulfilled if your backer survey is not complete, so please fill it out as soon as you can! Note: If you selected the pay-over-time option, you will not be able to access your survey until you have paid in full.

New Secret Project Title
The New Secret Project will be named Isles of the Emberdark. You can watch Brandon’s reading of selections from the book here. He also hosted a livestream last Friday, featuring the artist, Esther Hi'ilani Candari, and answering questions about the new book.

Synopsis
Though we will not be keeping the title secret this time around, we have included a brief synopsis of the New Secret Project below. Feel free to skip it if you’d like to wait and find out more in 2025.
All his life, Sixth of the Dusk has been a traditional trapper of Aviar—the supernatural birds his people bond with—on the deadly island of Patji. Then one fateful night he propels his people into a race to modernize before they can be conquered by the Ones Above, invaders from the stars who want to exploit the Aviar.
But it’s a race they’re losing, and Dusk fears his people will lose themselves in the effort. When a chance comes to sail into the expanse of the emberdark beyond a mystical portal, Dusk sets off to find his people’s salvation with only a canoe, his birds, and all the grit and canniness of a Patji trapper.
Elsewhere in the emberdark is a young dragon chained in human form: Starling of the starship Dynamic. She and her ragtag crew of exiles are deep in debt and on the brink of losing their freedom. So when she finds an ancient map to a hidden portal between the emberdark and the physical realm, she seizes the chance at a lucrative discovery.
These unlikely allies might just be the solution to each other’s crisis. In their search for independence, Dusk and Starling face perilous bargains, poisonous politics, and the destructive echo of a dead god.
Sanderson expands his thrilling novella “Sixth of the Dusk” into a mythic novel of legends, lore, and warring galactic superpowers.

Stonewards have been leading the way in the trivia challenge, just as you’d expect those courageous soldiers to lead out on the battlefield. But the top spot isn’t secure just yet! Truthwatchers and Elsecallers are close behind, and the other Orders still have a chance!

Trivia Challenge
You have more time! If you haven't already submitted your response to our trivia question you can still submit an answer for yesterday's poll! Our question for today is linked to this post as well. Our question for yesterday AND today will close at 11:59pm PST.
Selecting your Order: When you finish your pledge you will be prompted to select your Order! This will impact the following:
Give you a campaign badge that represents your Order.
Change the color of many of the buttons on the campaign to be themed to your Order.
Allow you to participate in the campaign trivia and earn points for your team!
This does not impact the Radiant pack you receive as a part of your pledge. You will get to make that selection in your backer survey when the campaign closes!
Quick FAQ Callouts
We've had a few common questions come up since we launched. We want to call out a few of them below:
Audiobook inclusion for all New Secret Project tiers - While a free Secret Project ebook is included with any premium hardcover purchase, the audiobook costs more to produce and the tier price would have been more. We determined that it would be best for backers to be able to opt in to that cost, rather than being forced to accept that additional cost.
Shipping - You can see our flat rate shipping prices (including customs and taxes) in our campaign story. We are unable to give you an estimate for add-ons at this time, as this is calculated by weight and region when completing your backer survey. If you are nervous about that additional cost, we recommend waiting to purchase add-ons until you access your backer survey. (Note: we do have a small number of limited add-ons that could sell out before this time, but we expect that nearly all add-ons to still be available.)

How to Participate
You can select your Order when you finish pledging. This will assign you to your order, give you a profile badge of your Order when posting, and allow you to represent your order in our trivia challenges!Â
When you log in to BackerKit and head to our campaign page you can participate in Dragonsteel's daily trivia polls!
Select the right answer and help your Order lead the Knights Radiant on the leaderboard. Teams are ranked by the highest percentage of correct trivia answers! These percentages are weighted based on the size of each order. So, even if your order has fewer members—we're looking at you Bondsmiths—you'll still have a fair chance of coming out the victor... you still have to be correct, of course.
Winners will receive a badge next to their backer profile for this campaign. When you post, you'll get to show off your Order's victory!
Moving forward, one question will be posted each weekday at 10am MST.Â
