Project FAQ
Yes, every pledge and add-on that contains physical books automatically come with their free PDF editions as well, saving you money and adding portable digital convenience.
Separate shipping fees will be charged to all backers later in the pledge manager in late 2026 after the campaign ends. We'll collect your shipping information and charge freight fees at that time. The shipping fees for countries across the world are listed under the Shipping & Timelines section of the campaign page.
You will be charged for your pledge and add-ons after the campaign ends in October 2026. BackerKit will charge your selected payment method automatically.
DIGITAL: The products will be ready to go shortly after the campaign ends; we are awaiting a few art assets still. This will set the digital release dates to begin in November 2026. At this point, all backers who have completed their survey and remitted final payment (for shipping fees and order adjustments) will be sent an email with DriveThruRPG download codes for their digital rewards. People who do not complete the survey on time will be processed in waves on a regular basis – perhaps every week. We will then send out download PDF codes in these waves to backers, not daily as they come in. In other words, if you want your pledge rewards as soon as possible, please don’t delay completing the survey. PHYSICAL: In November, we will open the pledge manager so backers can complete the survey, inputting their shipping addresses, modifying their pledge, and remitting freight fees. Once we close the pledge manager, backers must email us directly to make any further changes to addresses or reward selection. If production and delivery proceeds as expected, we will ship pledges to backers worldwide by March 2027.
Yes! Backerkit has a pay over time option, which allows backers to pay in four monthly instalments for pledges $150 and up. There is no interest or additional fees included in this payment option!
The Fantasy Heroes Unbound Deluxe Limited Edition is an book that is only sold directly by Dyskami Publishing and is available at launch only through the crowdfunding campaign.
Just as the 2024 edition of Dungeons and Dragons (v5.5) is a distinct entity that takes inspiration from the original 2014 5.0e, Fantasy Heroes Unbound reworks Anime 5E’s Point-based structure from the ground up, rebalances the mechanics, and presents an original experience for your fantasy storytelling adventures. In many ways, Unbound can be viewed as a more comprehensive Second Edition of Anime 5E that breaks away from its anime roots to more closely align and integrate with the traditional D&D epic fantasy adventures that you know and love.
We have ongoing partnerships (and are establishing new ones) that will allow us to have our RPG and expansions translated into different languages, though each publisher will decide for themselves which products to translate. We don’t have any firm commitments at this time to translate the Fantasy Heroes Unbound RPG line, but we think it is a good candidate for future translation.
Fantasy Heroes Unbound is a complete self-contained RPG that does not require any other game books to play, with the exception of spells should you wish to play a slot-based caster (in this case, the free online D&D System Reference Document will be sufficient). Of course, we know that many people interested in Unbound are already familiar with traditional Fifth Edition offerings – it is the “world’s most popular role-playing game” after all! The countless Fifth Edition books from Wizards and numerous third-party publishers can integrate with Unbound and provide a wealth of expanded gaming options to accompany our game line.
We would like to support development of VTT implementations, but we don't have a timeline when any may launch. Since Fantasy Heroes Unbound is built on the Fifth Edition framework, you can use a standard D&D character sheet on most VTTs and simply enter the Unbound details that’s unique to the game (and dice rolling is easily handled as well). There are also Anime 5E sheets already available on various platforms, which could be suitable for use with Unbound. The mapping and token representation on Roll20 or any VTT can be used with Unbound as well while you wait for native support on your platform of choice.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
