As a Spawns Legend backer, you will receive a full-body illustrated NPC and your own location in Windrip City, Vordan’s only true city and the seat of Clan Doomhammer.
Imagine your character standing among the frozen streets and towering strongholds of Windrip. Perhaps you own a brutal fighting pit, a smoke-filled tavern for hardened mercenaries, a hidden relic shop, a secret forge fueled by infernal fire, or a grim lodge overlooking the cliffs of the north. You will send us your ideas, descriptions, and visual references, and our team will transform them into a fully illustrated character and a written location integrated directly into the setting book itself.
This is your chance to leave your mark on Vordan permanently. We cannot wait to fill the frozen world of Vordan with your legends.
Become an NPC
For backers looking for a more accessible way to join the world, the Spawns Hero Box remains available and includes the NPC Portrait reward. You will become an illustrated character within the book itself, created by our artists based on your appearance and customization requests. Whether you want to appear as a scarred warrior, wandering hunter, mercenary captain, mysterious cultist, or battle-hardened explorer, our illustrators will bring your vision to life.
The NPC Portrait reward is also available separately as an add-on, making it a perfect gift for your party members, favorite DM, or friends.
If you’ve already pledged, just upgrade your pledge level to the Spawns Legend Box, the Spawns Hero Box, or modify your pledge to include the NPC Portraitadd-on to secure your place.
How It Works
Access the Character List: You’ll receive a link to a shared Google Sheets document. This document will include a list of all available NPCs, each presented with:
Their name
A brief description (including race, role in the story, and notable traits)
You will also have a chance to come up with your own NPC ideas if you don't like the ones presented.
Claim Your NPC: Selection for preset NPCs will be real-time, so you’ll need to act quickly to secure your favorite character on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once you’ve decided, leave a comment with your backer number next to the NPC you’ve chosen.
Our team will confirm your selection and lock it in to avoid duplicates.
Submit Your Details: After securing or choosing your NPC, we’ll contact you via email. You’ll be asked to send us:
A clear, high-definition portrait photo of yourself
Your customization preferences, including:
Accessories (e.g., jewelry, hats, eyewear)
Body features (e.g., scars, expressions, tattoos)
Weapons, armor, and gear
Any other details that make your character unique and cool
Receive Your NPC Portrait: Once your portrait is finished, we’ll email you a high-resolution version. You’re free to use it however you like—share it online, frame it, or simply admire it as your personal piece of art! Your NPC will appear in the book, all VTT versions, and some portraits may even be featured on booster cards.
