Prologue
Dark night. Driving rain. A smashed television, encrusted with moss and lichen. The head of a rusting iron rake through the broken glass. The figure of a small mouse, huddled under the meagre shelter of the tines.
From within the television, a silvery glow and a writhing of the moss, like it is trying to escape. Inside, a circle of obsidian suddenly bursting with light and flailing, feathery symbols. A blinding shockwave. Shards of burning black launching through the air.
A shard, silver glow fading, bouncing onto damp cardboard. A shard, clanging onto rusted yellow metal. A shard, caught in a spiders web. A shard, collected by curious paws. Nine in total.
A smouldering crater, where the television was. A thin figure, laughing in the rain. The huddled mouse, limping into the night.
WHAT IS THIS?
Junk City is a neo-noir mystery Mausritter setting, a sandbox campaign set against the backdrop of a vast, sprawling city.
The campaign begins in the aftermath of a magical disaster. A secret gate to the Faerie lands has exploded, sending highly charged magical shards throughout the city. A prominent mouse, important to the players, is missing. The city is torn between four major factions, each with conflicting goals, dark secrets, and their own reasons for seeking control of the Fae shards. Players will navigate these competing interests, investigate tangled conspiracies, and choose who, if anyone, to align with in the struggle for Junk City’s future.
Each adventure site found within this box set is designed as a stepping stone towards solving the problems presented by the overall campaign, though each can also be run as a one-shot or standalone adventure. The exception is the sealed adventure. This is to only be opened once the players or a faction are ready to reunite the Fae shards.
WHAT DO I GET?
An entirely new boxset campaign setting for Mausritter, brimming with mouse-scale danger and intrigue. Written by Isaac Williams (Losing Games) and Andre Novoa (Games Omnivorous), and illustrated by amazing artists like Amanda Lee Franck, Josiah Moore and Francisco Lemos.
It is published by Exalted Funeral and includes:
Guidebook detailing Junk City’s factions, districts, streets, shops and more.
9 trifold adventure postcards featuring incredible adventure sites such as a decommissioned caterpillar crane, an abandoned Volkswagen beetle turned into a casino, a rusty printing machine made into a factory and an old grand piano.
A sealed adventure envelope that should only be opened if players are able to assemble all shards.
9 item card sheets containing lots of new items, spells, and special conditions.
A nine-piece puzzle depicting the shards.
Player-facing maps of Junk City, and race maps for remote control cars.
