Project Update: Project Update: The Beasts Have Stats + Orders Lock September 4

Hail, everyone!

The Beasts have taken another substantial step toward being unleashed into the dying world: Max has now completed the first full round of stats and mechanics for every creature in the book. He’ll be making one final pass through them next, tightening and balancing everything into its finished form. Once that’s done, I’ll make a handful of final adjustments to the lore so that the creatures’ stories and their playable manifestations are properly aligned.

Then Mörktastic Beasts heads into proofing and layout.

In other words: we are getting very close to the stage where this thing stops being a collection of unruly manuscripts and spreadsheets and starts becoming an actual book.

⚔️ IMPORTANT: Orders Lock September 4

We are preparing to lock Pledge Manager orders on Friday, September 4. Once we initiate the lock, you will have 48 hours to make any final changes to your order. Please take a moment before then to make sure your rewards, add-ons, and shipping information are exactly as you want them.

More urgently: there are still 36 wandering souls who have not completed their Pledge Manager surveys at all. If you are one of them, please complete your survey now. Your Pledge Manager survey is how you confirm your rewards and give us the information we need to fulfill them. If too much time passes without your survey being completed, you risk losing your rewards altogether. Check your inbox, spam, and promotions folders for the BackerKit survey email and get yourself safely accounted for before the gates close.

All new creature lore is complete.
The first full round of stats and mechanics is complete.
Max is now making a final pass through the creature stats.
I’ll follow with a few final lore adjustments.
Proofing and layout come next.

The creatures now have names, histories, appetites, and increasingly specific ways to ruin your evening.
