Hail, everyone!

The Beasts have taken another substantial step toward being unleashed into the dying world: all of the writing, creature stats, and mechanics for Mörktastic Beasts are now complete. All final artwork is in, and the text has been professionally proofread and copy edited.

The creatures have their histories, their appetites, and their precisely quantified ways to ruin your evening. Now we are giving them their final resting places on the page; Max is working on the layout now.

Since our last update, I’ve also added a new introduction and preface—a few thousand words exploring the inspiration behind the project, some monster theory, and the choices we made when adapting the original material for MÖRK BORG. These opening pages offer a look at where the Beasts came from, what makes a monster monstrous, and how we reshaped these particular horrors to inhabit the dying world.

It’s a substantial addition, and I’m excited for you to read it.

Once layout is finished and we’ve checked the assembled book, we expect to distribute the final, fully hyperlinked PDF to backers very soon. We also expect to have the files submitted to the printer very soon.

Thank you for your patience, your enthusiasm, and your willingness to help bring this collection of beautiful, unpleasant things into existence. There is something deeply satisfying about seeing the last pieces come together. Soon you’ll be able to invite these Beasts to your table.
