This update is for AUS/NZ backers. Short version is, we will begin shipping "makeup shipments" on Thursday October 9 (USA time). These packages will originate from the USA and include items that were missing or damaged, plus the special AUS-only bonus encounter.
However, we are still waiting on confirmations from a number of AUS/NZ backers. We can't ship your makeup/bonus items unless we know exactly what items were missing, and what address to ship them to!
As of Thursday October 9, we will start shipping all makeup packages that we have information for.
If we haven't heard from a backer by then, we'll hold the shipment until we get confirmation. The fastest way to get your shipment will be to send us all info now, so it can go out quickly while we have the assembly line set up. Please, get back to us as soon as possible if you haven't already!

This is a quick update for AUS/NZ backers. In short, we are preparing to ship the "make-up" deliveries to AUS/NZ backers for items that were missing from their local-market deliveries. However, we are still waiting on email confirmations from quite a few backers!
AUS/NZ backers, please make sure to reply to our emails. We have a list from the fulfillment company of what items they did not ship. However, that does not tell us if your items arrived in damaged condition or not. It also doesn't tell us if they made a picking mistake and you're actually missing something else. We're also working with mailing addresses that are quite old, and it's probable that at least one backer has moved since that list was prepared.
We've emailed every AUS/NZ backer who was on their list of missing items to verify mailing address and what items were received. If you're one of those backers, please look for an email from [email protected] and confirm. We sometimes encounter junk mail issues so we will also follow up soon with an alternate @gmail address we use if spam filters are a concern. AUS/NZ backers, if you haven't already done so, please confirm mailing address and missing items via those emails, so we can get started on the shipping process.

First, thanks for your patience. We were consumed by the Gen Con vortex for much of July and August. Gen Con was fantastic and we're now mostly recovered. It's an enormous undertaking and also a ton of fun. Here's a photo of the whole "Goodman Gang" gathered around our banner at the show.

Now, down to business! For AUS/NZ backers, here's the latest.
Our local fulfillment partner has shipped out everything they could. As you know, most of you received partial shipments based on the inventory we were able to recover from the lost shipment.
The remainder of your pledge will be shipped directly from our warehouse in the USA.
We are depending on AUS/NZ backers to email us at [email protected] with some details. We have records from the fulfillment partner of what was shipped and unshipped, but given the unprecedented volatility of this fulfillment process, we'd like to validate that. So, please email us and tell us what you think you're missing. We'll make sure that matches the records we've received.
The next step is address verification. It's been a loooooong time since you all filled out surveys. Look for emails in the next week or so where a Goodman Games staffer will confirm the mailing address we have in our records. I'm sure at least one backer has moved and we want to ensure these final parcels go to the right place.
And finally... as the start of our "thank-you" for all this, your "makeup parcels" will contain a special bonus item!
The Lost Library of the Purple Planet

This update is for AUS/NZ backers. Here is the latest on the fulfillment situation. As you all may remember from this earlier update, the pallet headed to Australia was lost and eventually found, and as noted in this previous update, the finally-located pallet was missing some items.
For today’s update, here is the short version: beyond the “found pallet” none of the other items were found, fulfillment has begun, missing items will be shipped in from other markets (likely USA), unique bonus item for AUS backers to ship with that.
Here’s the long version of the update, with full details:
As you know from prior updates, the missing pallet of Australian backer inventory was finally located, but it had been opened and not all the stock was on it. The fulfillment company contacted multiple freight depots to see if the missing inventory could be located. They had to allow time for inventory searches to be completed. After allowing several weeks for that search to happen, none of the missing inventory was found.
The fulfillment company has provided us with a list of missing inventory and indicated they have begun fulfillment using “the inventory they have." Australian backers, you should start seeing books any day now (and comments indicate that some have landed, which is great news).
Some (perhaps many) of your pledges will arrive incomplete. Don't worry, we have a solution!
We have a list of what we believe will be missing, but, as we all have learned from this experience, “digital reality” and “physical reality” sometimes differ. When you receive your pledge, please email [email protected] to let us know what items are missing. If you're unsure of what items you should have received (particularly in regards to stretch goals), just ask our customer service team at [email protected]. We have a record of what stretch goals you should receive, and we are happy to help compare that to what you did receive.
Based on what you tell as us these packages land, we’ll do a second wave of fulfillment that covers all missing items. Based on the preliminary list of missing items provided by the fulfillment partner, we believe most of you will be missing stretch goal items, plus a selection of what we can only call "some random stuff" that varies by backer. We do have additional stock on most if not all the items, and our current plan is to fulfill these from our USA warehouse.
When you email us, please make sure to provide your full name and your mailing address, plus your backer number if you know it. This will make it much, much easier for us to look up your pledge and ensure we're getting it right!
In addition, Australian backers will receive a special Purple Planet encounter not available anywhere else. Harley Stroh and Doug Kovacs are currently brainstorming on this. They’re going to flesh out the details at Gen Con, then we’ll print this up as a cardstock bonus encounter. All we know right now is the muttered phrase, “warehouse adventure with lost treasures and kanga murder-rat foes” followed by some mad scribbling. Our current plan is to ship this bonus item with the wave 2 fulfillment.
Finally, we’ll do a credit at the end, but first things first…gotta get you the product.

For today’s update, let’s start by quoting verbatim what the fulfillment company recently provided to us:
Just a heads-up — this isn't a great email to be writing. We accepted delivery today of the pallet containing the Purple Planet shipment, but unfortunately, it's arrived significantly incomplete. I've attached our goods receipt so you can see exactly what was received.
I've followed up with the depot teams at Threshman and ICAL to understand what’s happened. They've advised that the shipment had been broken down after delivery and has since been moved around the depot quite a bit. What we received today is everything they were able to identify.
As you'll see from the attached receipt, there’s a substantial amount missing — including what I suspect are the hardest-to-replace SKUs like the stretch goals and limited editions.
For context, we’re approaching end-of-financial-year here in Australia, and nearly every major warehouse is currently in the thick of annual stocktake. I’ve paid for ICAL to do a full audit of every bay where this stock could have ended up, but due to their internal EOFY stocktake, they won’t be able to complete this until Thursday or Friday next week.
I’m not sure what the chances are that the missing items will turn up, but I’ve gone ahead with the search anyway in the hope that we can recover the limited edition and other high-value items.
Will keep you posted as I hear more — just wanted to flag it with you early.
So, what’s next? AUS/NZ backers, I think we’re at a crossroads. Here is what we’re considering, so please provide your input.
First, as a preamble, know that we do anticipate having enough stock to fill most if not all orders, just not necessarily “in Australia right now.” We always overprint by about 10%. We’ve actually taken flak for this in the past, because if we have leftover Kickstarter exclusives we put them up for sale in our online store. But this scenario is a perfect example of why we overprint. Most of our crowdfunding projects suffer some degree of “lost or damaged by the mailman,” and we use the overprints to replace those. This is the first time we’ve had a full pallet disappear, and thank goodness we have extras! I suspect we will be able to replace everything on it, though the overprints goods are probably in the USA, UK or Canada.
So here are the possible options. Think of this as “taking the temperature of the room.” We are still waiting to find out what the final inventory comes out to be. Options are some mix of these:
Fulfill your pledge using a mix of “inventory in Australia” and “inventory shipped in from other markets” – this will honestly vary pledge-by-pledge at this point, and we won’t know for sure until we get the final inventory count
Offer a full refund
Some sort of makeup item. We were already planning to give a credit of some kind when the fulfillment finally finishes. I’m now wondering if we should perhaps also create some special Australia-only item for Purple Planet backers. “My shipment went to the Purple Planet and back, and all I got was this lousy sticker!” Or a one-page mini-encounter. Could be something fun or something more substantial or “all of the above.”
