It's hard to understand the degree of how many things must have been messed up to cause this amount of delay for EU backers: - failing to inform yourself about fiscal and tax requirements in such a large market. Who would try to do business in a large market, sell thousands of units and than start thinking: "oh, there are some legal things we probably should check out" right when you are about to deliver 12 months later. - taking ages to set up a legal entity. To do business in the EU you can open up a legal entity in any member country. Some offer to set up a new business within a working day, even completely remote. Most require a couple of days, almost all the rest require a couple of weeks. Not sure what you are really doing that isn't completed after several months. If you rely on local advicers do set up the business you should strongly reconsider continuing doing business with them. - the communication is abysmal. I get it, it's not pleasant to continue bringing bad news. Still, this in no excuse in stopping to do it, since it's your mess. Let's hear some progress or what you are doing to make things better. The only way to interprete it currently: "We dont really care about you. Most of the world is done, just sit and wait your turn. " At least the refund was quick and painless. I am going to buy the game in retail which will be at the same time as backers will get it. At least I support a local business with a profit cut instead of rewarding you with higher profits for this whole mess. Spirit Island is my favorite game, It's hard not to let this business incompetence spill over to diminish my personal enjoyment of the game or my admiration for the designers. Anyway, I'm done doing business with you people.
Well, I was patient, but it was a bit too much for me. I was able to order tokens pack 2 and expansion from local retailers and foils from the US - all of which cost me less than a pledge I made, and all of which are likely to arrive before Christmas. Maybe if there was a realistic timeline I would still wait, but that is not going to be the case. It was my first early backer experience and I am very disappointed.
I feel deeply let down by this campaign. Too late now to pick up in retail and beginning to feel like we will never see our packages. This has been made worse by the lack of update. Even if it is just to check in it is worth doing. Takes two minutes. One of the worst campaigns I've backed. Would never back GTG again
I checked my order again and it is shown " Your order has shipped" are therre any information about the shipment`? My Trackking numer does not work so nothing to look up. From Germany Best regards Thomas
In case you haven't realized it, yet: The reason EU backers will no longer be considered in campaign updates is because GTG has given up hope that anything at all will change in the foreseeable future. There's basically zero chance we'll receive our orders from GTG this year, and probably not even in Q1 2024. At this point, they're probably relieved whenever another EU backer cancels their pledge and asks for a refund.
I must express my deep disappointment with the handling of this project by Greater than Games in Europe. It's disheartening to see that while players in other regions have already had the opportunity to enjoy this highly anticipated game, those of us in Europe are left waiting in the cold. The lack of communication and transparency about the delays and issues surrounding the European release is particularly frustrating. As a consumer, I expect to be kept informed about the status of my purchase, especially when there are delays beyond the initially promised timeline. Greater than Games has built a reputation for delivering quality games, and it's truly disheartening to see this misstep in customer service. The excitement for this game has been overshadowed by the disappointment of the delayed release, leaving European customers feeling neglected and undervalued. In the future, I hope Greater than Games takes steps to improve communication and ensure that all their customers, regardless of location, have a positive experience with their products. Not like this one, or the time when people in Europe couldn't get Horizons of Spirit Island
I really like this game i was really locking forward towards playing it. Also no problem with the delays and stuff and i can understand that there are some things you cannot control. What i really loeathe is the communication. Im moving citys soon and i cannot change my shipping adress nor get a refund. So in the end i wont get a product and my money? Trying to reach the emails adress since 5 weeks. I beyond furious... What kind of shitty behaviour is this.
