Isolate is a mechanic introduced in both Jagged Earth and Promo Pack #2 (or Feather and Flame, since it contains Promo Pack #2). It does a few things.
1) Invaders do not Explore Isolated lands.
2) Isolated lands are not a source of Explorers.
3) As far as Invader pieces are concerned, an Isolated land isn't adjacent to anything... unless you want it to be. (This does not affect non-Invader pieces, such as Dahan or Blight.)
