Small update from us this week. Things are moving right along. We've begun to order some stickers (the US single stickers... sticker sheets and EU stickers are coming soon).
Little known fact about me is that I studied biology with some focus on ecology. And ecologists <love/hate> to use the programming language R to read their spreadsheets and concoct graphs. Backerkit doesn't have any way to sort people's item counts by country/region (understandably, not many others are doing split print runs), so I pulled together a little R script to do that for us.
I was informed that it would've taken wayyy less time to use SQL to program this instead, but I think ecologists can have some fun once in a while building a convoluted script to achieve a simple task.
We plan to order enough zines to cover everyone, even those who haven't confirmed their surveys (just in case something was holding them up). There may be a few zines left over at the end. We'll keep you all posted on that— zines will only ever be sold at-cost.
Our current production bottleneck is the Employee of the Month artwork, but that's around 80% done now. We're on track to finish by the end of April and put the zines to print soon after. Here's a preview!
