The samples have been printed… and printed… and reprinted. When I tell you the back and forth on this process has taught me so much!
First it was the digital file issues.
Then it was the print clarity. But we fixed it!
So what was the last issue? This dang edge. If you could see, nothing was showing up!
But we figured it out, and now we have had multiple successful prints.
The covers are also printed and look wonderful.
The last step is the slip case. Once that is printed, I’ve asked the printer to ship me the samples so I can look at them in person before they print them all. This will take a little longer, but after all the chaos, I refuse to have them print thousands of books and have them be wrong.
As soon as I have them (I’m told estimated 8 days) I will review and give the thumbs up.
Then printing begins!
Bookmarks!
Also update on the bookmark designs. You all requested a new design, and my designer did her thing! Here they are. They have been ordered and will be in my hands next week!
Digital Files and Surveys
As someone new to Backer kit, I was CONFUSED on how to get the surveys approved. Thanks to the wonderful Backerkit team, I've figured it out. We've sent out the first few as a test with a plan to send the remaining tomorrow. Once those are complete, I can send out the digital reward files to everyone who gets them.
The Shorts and the Complete digital bundle are ready to go.
My editor had some personal delays on Lena's book but I am supposed to get that back from her in a couple of days for my final review and then I will get that out to you all asap.
Overall, we have movement and I am so happy for that because I absolutely HATE delays.
Just popping in with a few updates on the goodies!
Book Printing
After 7 degrees of hell bouncing between my designer (in Africa) and my printer (in China) we have finally entered the proofing stage. A few weeks later than I thought. But we have motion!
This is totally on me. I foolishly used the same estimated timeline as I always do, forgetting that this is FOUR books and a BOX! Lol way more complicated to make sure it all fits!
I will be sending both May and Kiff a gift card so they can buy themselves something sweet as an apology for how I’ve stressed them out these last few weeks!
As soon as the samples are ready, they will send me pics to confirm!
Yay!
The digital files:
All the shorts:
The digital file will be delivered to you allin a few days (no later than Tuesday)! I have a little tidying up to do with the formatting and then I will hit that pretty button.
Lena Needs a Break:
I am scheduled to get the book back from my editor on 10/16. I anticipate it will be in your hands one week later. (10/23).
I'll be back soon with pictures, etc. ASAP!
As always, thank you for supporting this project and Happy Reading!
Color me surprised when I realized I never posted my celebration message. I blame holidays and travels for the oversight.
But we did it! We hit our goal, and now we get to do the fun stuff.
I have received the first deposit, which means I get to pay for production to begin.
On Monday, all final files will be sent over to the printing team; we’re just tidying up some formatting things now. Once they have it, they will map out the full timeline, which I will then provide to you all.
As of now, we are on track for our estimated timeline and I am so excited because I cannot wait to get these pretty babies in my hands!
Thank you all for being a part of this and for your patience!
We have just 8 days to go and I feel like I blinked and time just flew on by.
What am I doing?
Getting all the files finalized and handed off to the printer(s)! They are on standby so as soon as I have funds in hand, I can pay for production!
Also... LENA NEEDS A BREAK will be headed to the editor in one week! So I've been reading through it and making sure she is all good and ready for her spa date. (That's what I like to call the editing process!)
I just wanted to pop in and say thank you to eveyone who has backed the project thus far!
Well, I planned this surprise reveal at $20,000! And we hit that number, unfortunately I was not quick enough posting this to properly celebrate because we’ve dropped a little (sob, pout, poo)! Hey, it comes with the territory, BUT we did it and now I get to share the goods!
I present to you the Display Box!
Okay, I wanted a fancier name for it, but that’s the best I could come up with, but every backer who got the 4-book bundle will receive the display box as well!
And here she is!
I’m so excited to present this design and looking forward to holding them in my hands!
Two and a half days and we hit it! I know my funding goal was a lot so I am grateful to everyone who helped make this happen! Especially in such a short time!
As announced before, every reader who backs this project will get the early release e-book of Lena Needs a Break, the first Accidents Happen Spinoff!
The main cast is done with their adventures, and while they may pop up along the way, it's time for something new.
Lena Needs a Break
Lena thought writing happily-ever-afters would be enough to bring her own. She was wrong!
After her blockbuster fantasy romance book, To Conjure Love, became a worldwide sensation, she had everything she ever dreamed of. Fame. Fortune. Awards. And adoring fans trying to conjure their own special guy.
But at the peak of her success, Lena couldn’t stop asking the question, what comes next?
Pushed by her adventurous friend, Rayna, Lena escapes to a secluded mountain cabin retreat with the hope of discovering the answer to that gnawing question. Instead, she finds Nathan, the brooding, maddeningly handsome local who seems determined to make her stay as unpleasant as possible. At least that was her first impression.
He’s sarcastic, infuriating, and impossible to ignore.
As sparks fly and sharp-tongued banter turns into undeniable chemistry, Lena suspects Nathan is hiding something beneath his gruff exterior. And she's right.
Nathan has a secret that belongs in the pages of one of her novels.
He's a werewolf.
Now Lena must decide whether to run from the wolf, or invite him into her witchy life and see how the story unfolds.
Because sometimes the greatest love stories aren’t the ones you write; they’re the ones you’re brave enough to live!
Thank you all once again.
We have a long way to go, so I plan to push that number as high as possible!
