Happy New Year! Patch and Sticker Previews!
Hey folks! Happy New Year! Thank you all for your support in 2025, and here's to a killer 2026! Work continues on the book and our hope is to have it ready for printing by en...
Grim Merchants is approved by TKG and ready to rock RIGHT NOW! Check the Backers-only section below for some DriveThruRPG links to add Grim Merchants and Androids Unleashed both to your library!
These links might come down once the pledge manager is open and I have other means to distribute files, but for now - enjoy your modules and thank you again for all of your patience! We hope the wait has been worth it!
For Deluxe backers: note that we still plan to ask for your preferred accreditation when we send out surveys. It's just your Backerkit account names listed in the book right now, but rest assured we'll be updating any/all of those names before we go to print!
For No Gods, No Masters crossover backers: we haven't forgotten about you! Digital mission cards are still in the works. Once we are closer to NGNM's release, we'll be able to share more and rest assured you'll have your sweet sweet vendor quests. Hang in there!
Tomorrow is April 15, which means we will be closing pre-orders for Grim Merchants items on the MM25 Pre-Order Store! Some updates for you:
A number of Deluxe Edition backers have let me know you're wary to submit your pledges due to missing items from a number of MM25 projects. If you are still waiting on a fix for the items in your pledge, I encourage you to reach out to me directly at [email protected] with your name, pledge number, and preferred name for the Deluxe Backer credits! For the rest of y'all, I'll monitoring for your Deluxe names for another week until April 21st.
We are still closing pre-orders tomorrow, but all this means is we will be making Grim Merchants items invisible! It will not affect existing backers or customers, and if any GM items are missing from your pledge as above, they can still be added back after being hidden in this way. So no rush there!
Again, not an ideal situation; we wish we could leave orders open for longer, but at this point the sooner go time is, the better! Thanks for all of your support and understanding, the next time we are in touch we hope to have some print proofs for y'all (and perhaps a look at the No Gods No Masters mission postcards!) Take care!
Josh here. It's been an incredible couple weeks seeing first impressions roll in about Grim Merchants (which is out now to backers AND onItch+DriveThruRPG)! Seems like we did a good book-writin,' and that's all we could possibly hope for! Now, to business:
However, we are starting to sweat a little on the logistics of international shipping (i.e. getting your books to TKG warehouses on time before the world burns down). To that end, to make sure we are able to hit all of our printing and shipping milestones, we will be having TKG close pre-orders for Grim Merchants items by end of day on April 15, 2026. This will allow us to definitively lock our order numbers for different regional warehouses and begin getting books printed locally by the end of April. Note that this does not mean the Pre-Order store is closing for anything else! It's just our stuff. Other creators may do similar, but it's up to us what day we close up. This day will also be our soft cutoff for Deluxe tier backer credit submissions, so if you are a Deluxe tier backer, please fill out your survey this week! You'll still be credited in the book if you don't, but it'll just be by the name associated with your Backerkit account instead of your bespoke choice.
Apologies to anybody hoping for more time to pre-order, but with all of the delays that have already occurred, it's more important than ever that we stay on track with our physical fulfillment deadlines. Rest assured that physical copies of both Grim Merchants and Androids Unleashed will be available post-fulfillment on the TKG store (Deluxe is a bit of a question mark though). We appreciate your support and understanding, and we are excited to be able to move into the printing stage very soon!
Now, I just want to mention a couple topics in case anybody was curious:
Stickers and Patches. These aren't on the pre-order store! We considered offering 'em, but we did print runs of both in early January before realizing exactly how much numbers might vary with pre-orders. Since we weren't confident on the logistics of a second, much-smaller print run, we excluded them from the store out of an abundance of caution.
Deluxe Backer Credits. We super appreciate anybody who picks up the Deluxe print on pre-order! However, this add-on is just the book, not a backer credit as offered during the campaign at the Deluxe tier. Just so it's clear!
Upgrading Pledges. We had a $1 tier for specifically this purpose, and I know many folks may have backed at the Digital tier in hopes of upgrading post-campaign. I was not aware that this would not be possible with the current setup, however, so unfortunately it's a bit of a sticky situation. $1 Backers, I encourage you to snag a complimentary digital copy of Grim Merchants from the pinned update if you haven't already, as some amount of apology for the accidental deception. And for anybody who would still like to manually have their pledge upgraded, please reach out to me at [email protected] and we will see what we can do in conjunction with TKG and Backerkit.
Alright that's it! Remember: April 15, pre-orders close and we will be off to our printers! Talk again very soon!
Hey all! Back again to update you on our digital release plans! Which is to say, we unfortunately are going to need to push those plans back to early March!
So here's where we're at: Grim Merchants and Androids Unleashed are both completed and ready to release, and we are just polishing up the last two player handouts for Friday. All we are now waiting on is final-final approval of the book's contents from TKG and also on the launch of the mega pledge manager to have an easy way to distribute download links to everyone! So as soon as that goes live, we have your digital downloads chambered to fire over to your inboxes. Formal DriveThruRPG distribution will be able to occur once you've done your surveys and we know which emails you want your content sent to!
In the meantime, since it'll be a pay-what-you-want title anyway, we're putting a download link for Androids Unleashed below in the Backers-only section of the post. Something to tide y'all over! We will probably release it to everybody next week regardless of anything else, since it's a great little module and I'd love it to get it into the wild.
Still though, apologies for having to delay things at all. I was really hoping the pieces would fall into place to hit the target we set during the campaign! Alas, the logistics of the real world have hands. Michael and I are really looking forward to digital release - there's a ton of cool-ass stuff in this book and we are both really proud of it. We will be in touch soon!!
Hey all! It's been radio silent over here for about a month, so I just wanted to throw y'all a cheeky Sunday update!
The Mega Pledge Manager and the Pre-Order Store are both still in the works - I've been told to expect them to go live in the next week or two. We'll have a bigger update with those once they're live, but the short version is that our physical production schedule may have to be shifted around to account for extra pre-orders (i.e. we gotta know how much stuff we're making before we make it)! Everything should still ship all the same - our stuff just won't be headed to the warehouses as soon as we projected!
Good news, though, the book is looking SLICK in layout and we are on track for digital release towards the end of February per our schedule! It'll likely be a version sans Deluxe Backer names, since we'll still be collecting them most likely, but rest assured we will update everything before going to print. To tide you over, take a look at one of our five Printable Immersive Handouts! There's one for each merchant, designed to hook your players in and get them wanting to visit and spend some credits. This flyer for Ephemera4Cheap could be found trampled in a crowded street, pasted to a bulkhead under dingy lighting, or shoved into someone's hands by a haggard street urchin on DuBose's payroll. Enjoy!
I've been really enjoying sprucing these handouts up with resources found in Alfred Valley's EVERYWHERE UNSEEN texture pack! It's a great little collection of weird blotches and shapes that can really bring some grime and life to the pieces. Take a look yourself if you're the curious sort!
That's all for now. Once the Mega Pledge Manager and Pre-Order Store go live, I'll be back with more to share on those! For now, hold tight. Thanks for reading!
