When we sent surveys out, Backerkit told me that 80% of people would complete them in a timely manner. I scoffed: OUR backers would do their duty and complete their surveys as soon as they got them.

I was wrong. Currently only 79% of people have completed their surveys. 

There is some wiggle-room in the numbers, because people who are paying in instalments do not get their surveys until the last instalment is complete. But that does not account for the whole shortfall.

Having learned from the Crowley experience, I want to start getting those things that can be manufactured early kicked off. But I can't do that until I have final numbers, and I can't get final numbers until the surveys are complete.

So please, if you have received a survey, fill it in! It's a weekend, it's surely too hot to do anything other that sit in front of the computer answering questions about T-shirt sizing - seize this opportunity to tick this one thing off your to do list.

Hi all

Quick update, because I'm trying to save myself from answering the same questions over and over again via email (if you see someone with either of these issues, please point them here).

1. If you are paying in instalments, you will not get a survey until the last instalment is paid. This is a Backerkit thing, and it makes sense because the survey, in theory, triggers availability of digital products and shipping (those are, in fact, a way off here), so they try to protect creators from a situation where a backer pays one instalment and then gets all of the stuff anyway.

It doesn't matter, though, you're not missing out on anything just because you're getting your survey after everyone else - we're not manufacturing until some time after the last survey goes out, so it's not possible for us to run out of anything.

2. If you backed Crowley, but only added physical products AFTER you pledged (ie you pledged digital only, but then added a T-shirt) you WILL get the stickers, by hook or by crook. No, they have not appeared in your basket yet, because I need to add them manually and I'm going to do that when all the surveys are in. 

It's amazing that my ratio today of writing the new series to answering emails about stickers is nearly 1:1!!! I'm not answering another of those emails - we have amended the FAQs to cover it, and I'm updating here, so anyone who still needs to ask why their stickers aren't in their basket can ask someone else!!

And breathe...

Someone wrote to me recently asking if I realised that people didn't really care about merch, they just wanted the shows to be made and why was I bothering with T-shirt, CDs etc? That person had not seen all the emails about stickers!

Everything is in hand, everything is (for now) proceeding according to plan. Nobody needs to panic. Except me, probably, because I have a LOT of words to write...

Please remember - if you are expecting the audio via RSS feed on the day of release, the system will need your full name and a valid email address, so please amend your details accordingly if you have used an initial, or only your first name.

I'm still here, hovering on the Backerkit community pages, but the system doesn't notify me when there are new comments, and I can't be watching the thing the whole time now that there is a show to write. I'm still checking in, but it is not the most reliable place to get my attention, or to find out what is happening.

The Pleasant Green site (https://www.pleasantgreen.co.uk) is the place to go for all Pleasant Green-related news, fiction etc. Paid subs get more access, but the free subscription will keep you in the loop for announcements, updates etc. (I don't share my mailing list with anyone, and I don't bombard you with updates).

My own site (https://www.purehokum.co.uk) is a little more "behind the scenes" and is completely free.

We also have our own private social media site, The Pendragon Club, at https://pendragon-club.mn.co, which is where I can be found most of the time, in an armchair in the corner of the Morning Room. The Pendragon has, as you would expect, a few rules  - political conversation is banned, for instance. The Pendragon is free to join, but membership is (very lightly) vetted.

I will continue to post updates on here, and to check in, but the other places will be better for staying in the loop. 

We're just ironing out some annoying kinks with the backer surveys and they will be coming out to you soon.
