I know the campaign struggled in the crowd for Pintopia 2025, and I struggled a lot this year too with exhausting challenge after challenge kicking my knees backwards. I'm really lucky to have had all your support and patience. As much trouble as I had I have to realize things did get there, and that is thanks to all of you supporting my business and all the helpful people in my life! Many of you have already received your bags and other items! The rest of you that don't have a zebra haunch in your order (and most of you who do) should have received a tracking number tonight or will tomorrow, and you should see it start moving either Saturday afternoon or Monday evening. There will be brand-new concepts up for grabs too. I'll share some concept art for a couple of favorites. We'll be launching in March instead of in the middle of Pintopia, which will hopefully give us a better chance of unlocking more designs!

Item changes/refunds: Some of you may have noticed partial refunds or gotten alerts about changes to your add-ons. That's because between getting them and now I straight up managed to lose a bunch of the extra fulfillment items. I have no idea how it happened and after spending multiple days tearing my house apart looking for them I'm afraid they got thrown out, because I had them in a very specific box in a particular closet and they were simply Not There. My wife says she never touched it and I know I didn't, which leads me to believe one of us somehow managed to throw out the whole box. I'm pretty upset and can't really afford to re-order all those materials, so I went through unfulfilled orders and refunded the items that were paid for and removed freebies.
I'm really, really sorry y'all. I figure you'd probably all prefer to get the bigger items you paid for than have them held on to for months so I can save up for and re-manufacture a bunch of freebies and tiny things. If you paid for these things you have either already been refunded or I will have to reach out to you to find an alternative way to refund you because I was unable to simply re-issue it to your chosen payment method.

FOLLOWING A DELAY, FULFILLMENT NOW BEGINS NOVEMBER 4TH!
I'll explain all that at the bottom of this post, but want you to have the important info up front. I'm sincerely sorry about the delay, and taking over a month to get an update out. Please know I'm taking this very seriously. I've had a bad year for circumstances outside my control and I'm determined to keep things moving.
Future Campaign Changes
Some of you might remember that Carrion Baggage: Second Bite was going to be a part of Pintopia 2026. After some exciting talks w/some folks it is actually being delayed! There will still be pins this Jan, just as a separate project: Gnawesome Predators!
Carrion Baggage: Second Bite will be launching in March of 2026! It will have the 3 most wanted Premium Cut bags still, but it will also be getting a few extras that I'm excited to share once they're finalized. The bags are also getting some changes: specifically straps will now be faux leather and fully removeable! There will also be new meats, like a sardines in tomato sauce tin and connecting sausage link bags!
That's all the Carrion Baggage specific news I have to share for now. Everything on the backend is sorted,
The delay: I planned to do all my fulfillment in September, which was meant to be my chill month off where I just worked on fulfillment, developed new stuff, and vibed. Then I cracked a tooth right after labor day weekend and it rapidly became a really bad medical emergency which I will avoid describing in detail because it was extremely Not Great. I will leave it at a cartoonish "my face exploded." This put me out of commission for WEEKS. I was in and out of the doctor every other day, narrowly avoided hospitalization, and was on some serious meds that had me unconcious for as long and often as possible. By the time I was able to function in any useful capacity again I had 2 back-to-back conventions and no prep ready. I racked up some bug eye medical bills in all that hullabaloo and will still have more to cover in the future, so I was not in a position financially to cancel and instead focus on lost Sept. obligations.
This has messed with my business as a whole too, not just this campaign. So I've taken steps to prevent something like this from happening again. We imported an industrial stuffing machine, are switching to a shop drop model, and have discontinued pre-orders on all plush we finish ourselves. All orders for my shops (lairbrew.com and our etsy) will be refunded if not fulfilled by a certain date, and the push for fulfilling those orders will be after I have taken 2 rest days max following our journey home.
November 4th is the day after the order refunding deadline, meaning I will be dropping literally everything to start working on Backerkit fulfillment at that time.
In summary: life happened in a really bad way and mucked up all my plans. We're still on our way though!

SURVEYS HAVE LONG SINCE GONE OUT FOR EVERYONE!! Please fill yours in if you haven't already! There's a surprising number of unfinished ones despite reminders going out.
All the plush keychains, mini bags, and enamel pins are now here and looking good!
The plush keychains came in without their tags despite me getting testing done and submitting files before manufacturing began which I am VERY unhappy about (they could've been destroyed at the border) but ultimately they are in hand and the worst didn't happen so I'm over it.
Fulfillment will begin soon! I would have loved to say they'll be starting right this very moment, but I got sick over labor day weekend. I will have to go at a casual speed as I have a ton of overlapping responsibilities right now, but this September I am taking some time off from conventions. Carrion Baggage fulfillment is my top priority on this long list. The moment I am over this con crud from Megaplex I'll be sending out oodles of bags, but I really don't want to be handling them while I'm sick. Anyway! Get your addresses up to date before they're locked down, because fulfillment beginning means orders and addresses getting locked and cards getting charged for shipping. If you aren't sure you're good to go and have the moment to make sure all your info is correct please do!
What's next?
Our next project is going to be one of two projects: either Cauldron of Cryptids, a series of medium size cryptid plush, or Deadweights, a series of weighted creepy-cute teddy plush!
CAULDRON OF CRYPTIDS:
This campaign is a newer one in the lineup but might be launching in the place of our Deadweights campaign. It will depend on the prototyping process for Deadweights- we only have 1 completed prototype so far. Meanwhile for Cauldron of Cryptids we already have 2: Mothman and the Fresno Nightcrawler. There's several other designs that will be stretch goals, so if you like cryptids and are in to the idea of helping me release plush that don't cost so much to obtain I hope you'll follow the project over here!
DEADWEIGHTS:
This campaign will have something for pin and plush lovers, so please consider following the project! A strong start means more designs for everyone in the end, so it is much appreciated. The initial line includes 7 designs, and there are many surprises in store if it happens to be more successful than that. Here's an incomplete prototype of Switchblade the Dead or Alive Cat: His final prototype is a good hugging size and weighs in at about 2lbs thanks to weighted beads in his tail tip and paws!

This time we'll have more of a pin focus that will appeal to animal lovers, especially those of you with a fondness for carnivores both past, present, and fantastical! But our 3 most popular Premium Cut bags will also be a part of it, so pleasecheck it out to see everything we're expecting to release!
Kobolds are our bread-and-butter plush. They are the design that holds all the weirder ones I like to do out of pocket on their backs, and I am constantly getting asked for different varieties from color changes to themes. I could never afford to make all the things people ask for or that I think of, but I want to give them all a fair shot someday. That is where KOBOLDS - Plush after your 5 gold! comes in. The date and scale is currently undetermined, but if you love these little guys and are interested in getting some novel additions to your hoard that are likely to be one time production runs then it won't hurt to follow the teaser page!

I was told they were in Quality Check some time ago, but when I asked when they would be ready to ship, I didn't get an answer. I had to push, and just now was told most of them are on the way via express shipping now. I believe my manufacturer had some fires to put out since the tariffs definitely affected them too and our project fell through the cracks. Not all of the bags are on the way- I'm missing a solid 25% of some of the designs, in fact- but enough of each design to fulfill Backerkit orders are definitely on the way. I will keep you all updated when they hit customs, because this is going to be my first time receiving an order of this size in the wake of the tantrums tariffs.
If you prefer smaller plush you might be more in to my early 2026 project that is in the earliest stages, Deadweights, a collection of weighted, creepy-cute dead things. Plush keychains are also on their way in to the US! They had originally been redirected to a warehouse where they were sitting waiting to either be shipped directly from China or brought overseas. The full stock is now on the way! I am not sure when they will arrive, as this is my first time receiving a bulk order through Nextsmartship.
Lanyards are currently off manufacturing freeze to ship them to the US! I'd been delaying them being made because they are a low profit margin item that I would have been losing a significant amount of money on at first, and I was hoping maybe if I was patient I'd be able to bring them in at not such a significant cost. That paid off, and all 5 colors are now in the works to get them here ASAP!
Pins are behind. I had someone all lined up to manufacture the single collab pin design and it all looked good, but once money changed hands stuff started getting red flag-y. Eventually they were not answering my messages. That order has since been canceled and I'm still waiting for the refund to clear so I can bring it to a different manufacturer. I apologize, pins are not my area of expertise, so I'm not sure how much of a setback this will be. I'll update once I know!
T-Bone steak mini bags have been ordered! Their test prototypes have been made and they're currently undergoing safety testing before final production begins.
Egg mini bags have also been ordered!! It turned out to make more sense to get both bags instead of just one numbers wise (I was surprised too,) so they are also currently in the safety testing stage.
Some items are pulled, and some prices have been adjusted. This is of course in reaction to the tariffs. Orders that have already been placed should not be affected.

All of this does mean I'm having to take the tariff charges for the project squarely on the nose, and for an order that is in the 5 digits, that is no small thing. I won't lie, we're hurting. It has been a 1 microwave meal a day kind of time for my wife and I for the first time since she was in college. The most important thing is not only do we still have that meal a day, we have a roof over our heads, running water, working electricity, and our critters are cared for. I can complain, but it is about comfort level rather than some of the worse scenarios. I'm putting my promises to Backerkit supporters and shop supporters first, so while it sucks to get this slowed down because everything became monumentally worse than we anticipated, things are moving forward. The plush keychains came in without their tags despite me getting testing done and submitting files before manufacturing began which I am VERY unhappy about (they could've been destroyed at the border) but ultimately they are in hand and the worst didn't happen so I'm over it.
Fulfillment will begin soon! I would have loved to say they'll be starting right this very moment, but I got sick over labor day weekend. I will have to go at a casual speed as I have a ton of overlapping responsibilities right now, but this September I am taking some time off from conventions. Carrion Baggage fulfillment is my top priority on this long list. The moment I am over this con crud from Megaplex I'll be sending out oodles of bags, but I really don't want to be handling them while I'm sick. Anyway! Get your addresses up to date before they're locked down, because fulfillment beginning means orders and addresses getting locked and cards getting charged for shipping. What's next?
Our next project is going to be one of two projects: either Cauldron of Cryptids, a series of medium size cryptid plush, or Deadweights, a series of weighted creepy-cute teddy plush!
CAULDRON OF CRYPTIDS:
This campaign is a newer one in the lineup but might be launching in the place of our Deadweights campaign. It will depend on the prototyping process for Deadweights- we only have 1 completed prototype so far. Meanwhile for Cauldron of Cryptids we already have 2: Mothman and the Fresno Nightcrawler. There's several other designs that will be stretch goals, so if you like cryptids and are in to the idea of helping me release plush that don't cost so much to obtain I hope you'll follow the project over here!
DEADWEIGHTS:
This campaign will have something for pin and plush lovers, so please consider following the project! A strong start means more designs for everyone in the end, so it is much appreciated. The initial line includes 7 designs, and there are many surprises in store if it happens to be more successful than that. Here's an incomplete prototype of Switchblade the Dead or Alive Cat: His final prototype is a good hugging size and weighs in at about 2lbs thanks to weighted beads in his tail tip and paws!
Carrion Baggage: Second Bite is coming to Pintopia 2026!
This time we'll have more of a pin focus that will appeal to animal lovers, especially those of you with a fondness for carnivores both past, present, and fantastical! But our 3 most popular Premium Cut bags will also be a part of it, so pleasecheck it out to see everything we're expecting to release!
Kobolds are our bread-and-butter plush. They are the design that holds all the weirder ones I like to do out of pocket on their backs, and I am constantly getting asked for different varieties from color changes to themes. I could never afford to make all the things people ask for or that I think of, but I want to give them all a fair shot someday. That is where KOBOLDS - Plush after your 5 gold! comes in. The date and scale is currently undetermined, but if you love these little guys and are interested in getting some novel additions to your hoard that are likely to be one time production runs then it won't hurt to follow the teaser page!

Hello everyone! Things have been going smoothly, I simply haven't updated because I've been caught in fulfillment hell for a totally different, non-Backerkit set of plush, as well as the very last bits of fulfillment for my original project. So let me catch you all up to speed!
