Sorry for the double update! Since we're rapidly approaching the final elected stretch goal design, I've been working on new goals and just wanted to quickly share some sketches and see if you had any thoughts on them! Unfortunately apple slice and chip have generally failed to get much traction in previous polls, so I think we'll leave those on the drawing board, at least for now. I'll also revise the sandwich cookie a bit for the next poll.
Here are the new candidates, though please note that these are not finalized designs: 1A and 1B are alternate suggestions for a Japanese snack (based on the apple slice pose), using either the iconic three-color dango or the more popular Pocky as the snack. I think I like dango better compositionally, but Pocky fits the spirit of the rest of the set better. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!
2 is, of course, a mini donut. I'm still fiddling around with sprinkle and icing colors to see what fits best, so the colors should not be considered final at this stage. If you have any thoughts on the color scheme, let me know!
3 is a redesign of Chip, using the same ghost but with a more distinctive chip shape. I actually thinks it works out nicely because it's almost like a bonnet or a parachute for a tiny ghost?
4 is perhaps the odd one out here. In a previous update, one backer proposed the Australian classic children's snack, fairy bread, as an option, and since it's a really visually fun dessert item I wanted to give it a try. While I was drawing it, I realized it also looks very similar to a beloved dessert item from my childhood: mokkapala, AKA the Finnish coffee brownie.

Just swapping the enamel color makes it pretty spot on, and that's generally cheap to accomplish on the manufacturing side. So, if design 4 were to go forward and become a stretch goal, it would unlock in both colors as an option. I'm going to fiddle around with the size of the nonpareils / hundreds and thousands on the pin to see what looks nicest and reads the best on such a small pin!
