Boris Klaverlock, the famed and retired adventurer and wizard, invites the PCs to his manor to discuss a dangerous but very rewarding proposition. To conduct a raid on one lord SAITO NOBUNAGA’S castle to steal the legendary grimoire known as THE MAGNARON.

The Magnaron is a very powerful book of spells comprised of The Dark Enclave’s most dangerous conjugations from each of their own nine dark schools of magic.

Lord Klaverlock inevitably meets with the party for a deeper explanation of this perilous quest. Here is a portion of this meeting.

“There is but a single goal to this deadly quest. You are to locate the original tome, The Magnaron, and bring it back here to Klaverlock Manor for a handful of transcriptions of the book to be made. One tome will be kept by myself and an additional copy will be made for each surviving wizard, witch, or sorcerer within your party. Under no set of circumstances are any of you to duplicate any more copies than what I’ve made mention of. I ask for your solemn vow to guard each tome and all of its secrets with your lives.

If your party can find a way to destroy most of Saito’s denizens, all the better. For if any members of Saito’s clan shall survive, everyone including myself responsible for such a theft will be relentlessly hunted until only one surviving faction remains. 

They say this book is particularly suited for those of pure evil, but like any good weapon, the deadly aspects of this tome can be used to battle the forces of darkness, unlike any other tome we’ve recovered to date.”
