I'll preface by saying I actually agree with your final comment. But even though they are really minor nitpicks, I also agree with both of the two points you mentioned that keep getting brought up. I too have seen a lot of similar comments from people over the last few weeks.
I kinda think in hindsight, MCDM's reasoning of "we wanted to save everyone a step of having to explain to people that [Name of the RPG] is the new MCDM RPG" hasn't worked out well because I've seen an *ungodly* amount of people asking "So the name of the game is The MCDM RPG??" in various comment sections around the internet that now require people to jump in to correct them.
It would've been so much easier for everyone to refer to this as "[name of the RPG], the upcoming TTRPG from MCDM". So much less confusion.
I also think the term "Director" has a disconnect from the genre. It's like calling the GM for a Western themed RPG a "Composer" or the GM of a Sword and Sandals RPG "Mission Control". Yes, I get the gist of why these names could work, but is there no name that is in-genre that would feel less disconnected? The Hidden Hand? The Kingmaker?
Again, both are minor in the grand scheme of things, but I think its early enough in this process that these are the kinds of opinions that can be talked about to gauge how people feel as the game continues to shape up. And as you said, if these are the only complaints, the game is already really solid.

I’m still of the opinion that game master works as a standard for almost all ttrpgs now. I personally use storyteller almost exclusively with my gaming groups. I do think director is meh, but don’t really use DM, keeper of arcane lore, lore master or any of the other game specific titles either, which might be why I am unbothered by the term “director.” As for the name, I do wish I had a name to give people when talking about it, but I can wait.
