Can't @ people in the replies or directly reply so @ Formideimos The pink and pinkish legs are actually distinctive to luna moths! As in, a noted characteristic of their species and an indication of them! They do have a range and usually have less prominent, faded colors as their generations progress throughout the year (which happens in wings too) Most, however, have colors like this! Some have lighter and more pink-y but the pink is still characteristic to them nevertheless! Most images will showcase that haha
You can tell that moth likely isn't first generation due to the upper border of the wings being a light yellow too, which is also characteristic of usually third generations (they fade in color) and moths that have been exposed to too much light! Which can have the potential to fade them due to their delicate color and scales. So that's really not a true coloration or how they should be and/or representative of how they usually are or what you'll see <3 Just pointing that out! It can happen but that's not what they usually will look like. You'll see many moths photographed with lighter color are in broad daylight and likely have been, when as a nocturnal species, they usually wouldn't/aren't supposed to be but of course, some will anyways -- that when combined with the fact some do have yellow or yellowish wings too and more faded characteristics can result with that!
Nature is a sliding scale in colors and ranges! Evan likely just went with what they're most known for and representative of them
