Project Update: Plushie and shirt samples nearly complete!
Thank you for bearing with me while I have my nose to the grindstone getting all of the series 2 snughoul items ready for production! As of this week about 90% of the series 2 goodies have been confirmed, paid for, and are actively in production now. It's been one long and busy road and I still have plenty to do before everything leaves my various suppliers, but knowing the chain of fulfillment is set up and waiting is a huge weight off my mind.
Now on to Pintopia updates! Things have been far from quiet on this side of things and I'm stoked to show you all the progress we've made in such a short amount of time.
The button-up samples are largely finished! I want to make a few adjustments to the position of the pattern on the Sweet Dreams shirt (don't like that Nightmare is cut in half), but everything else looks fabulous. Each shirt now has a pocket and complimentary button colors.
Plushie prototyping has also been moving along at a good clip! Got our first glimpse of Rosy Maple tonight and they're already almost perfect which is awesome for a first pass.
Colors for Dragon Fruit Bat have been picked out, so I expect a plush update next week!
Apart from that all we're waiting on is a few tweaks to Twinkle Star Bat, the updated Thornheart Wolpertinger with paler colors, and some new flowers for Sakura Wolpertinger! Cosmic Beez and Sweet Heart Bat are 100% finished.
- Quick note about Cosmic Beelzebear: Saw the feedback about the belly badge material and took it on board! I requested both samples (holo and tie-dye) and will hold a poll when they arrive to determine the final plush.
All 23 characters from series 2 had to be reviewed and confirmed (and in some cases small adjustments had to be made due to fabric availability) before production which slowed development down on this new batch, but that is mostly out of the way now so things should pick up speed as we move into June!
To accommodate the new snughoul logo, I've developed a new hang tag too.
And a new wash tag with all the necessary information to make sure the snughouls pass their safety testing later this month.
And finally development on the pins and the shaker keychain should begin next week! Truth be told they're the most straightforward thing about this project so I've been a little less pressed about getting the ball rolling on them vs the plushies and apparel, but I know everyone is excited to see some physical samples (me too!!)
Charmsey has been a little under the weather resulting in a delay on our collaboration pieces, but these should also be finished next week so sampling can begin on them as well.

Can we have a date when the surveys are due? I want to see the finished prototypes of the plushies before I fill out the survey, because I dunno if I’ll update my pledge to two or not!

Are we able to choose the design we want for the free lanyard that all backers will receive, or is it set as the Snughouls design? I'm excited to get a new lanyard as I've had the same one for probably longer than I should have, and I was debating about adding a second one if the option is set to only the one design.

Project Update: Smoke test is live!
Popping in real quick to let you know the smoke test just went live, which means about 5% of pintopia backers will receive their surveys tonight and have a chance to fill them out.
I'll be keeping a close eye on everything on the back end, but if you encounter any issues on your end please reach out to me here and let me know! It's important those issues get ironed out before the bulk of the surveys (over 1k!!!) go out to everyone because it will be much, MUCH harder to fix then 😅
If everything looks good by tomorrow, that's when the rest of the surveys will go out (so keep an eye on your inbox!)
Also a quick reminder that the preorder store has the size charts for all apparel, so if you want to double check you're ordering the right size for you that's the best way to do it 💖
Project Update: Pintopia surveys drop this weekend!
I was hoping to start the survey smoke test tonight and send out the remainder tomorrow, but it looks like something is bugged on my end because I can't submit the survey for review 🙃 That's a bummer and slows us down a bit, but I've already reached out to support and I'm confident they'll have it sorted by tomorrow.
On a lighter note, the BackerKit team built a new function and we get to be the first to test it out! If you selected one of the pin bundles as an add-on, the prompt you encounter to select your pins will be all-new and super streamlined. We've already tested it pretty extensively and it seems to be working as intended, but I'll be hypervigilant and on the lookout for any issues once surveys are live.
So the TL;DR of this update is-- surveys are delayed due to a bugged submit button, but should be fixed tomorrow and then sent out shortly after that.
And if you made it this far, I have a little treat for you! Another round of plush updates has arrived! These four are remarkably close to finished already.
- Sakura Wolpertinger needs a few more adjustments to their flowers. We've talked about using a different material altogether so I'm optimistic the next iteration will look less like a cheap cutout.
- Twinkle Star Bat will have lighter embroidery on their nose because the contrast is too stark right now.
- Not pictured here, but Thornheart Wolpertinger is also being adjusted slightly. The yellow on their horns and paws will be more pale, and the main body blue lightened just a bit.
Other than that the first batch is done and I look forward to Dragon Fruit and Rosy Maple next!

i was looking at the gnawborn pin from the collab and the little mouse is so cute, so i had an idea obviously its like not something I expect anything to come from but. a little mouse cryptid would be so cute to add to the roster at some point! small with big ears, maybe it could be something like a brownie :]

Project Update: Survey and preorder store updates!
I'm looking forward to taking a little break myself, and with prep on the surveys and preorder store almost finished it looks like that might actually happen this weekend haha. The rest of this week was almost entirely dedicated to getting the preorder store set up, which took A LOT more work than I anticipated! We have over 90 unique SKUs for shirts alone so to say it was tedious is a tremendous understatement.
The good news is the preorder store is now live! And surveys are 95% done, I'm just waiting on the backerkit team to do some last minute finagling on their end to get the bundle add-ons working. This can take up to 5 business days, so I'm tentatively planning for surveys to go out on May 5th.
In the meantime if you'd like to look over all the available items and see the size charts for each style of shirt, feel free to check out the preorder store!

Charmsey is chipping away the last few collab illustrations and should have the final artwork finished before surveys go out. Below is the latest WIP for the sweater-- doesn't it just get cuter and cuter? 🥹
I've also ordered the rest of the samples for the button-ups! The next batch of samples should all have pockets and customized button colors.
And finally I'll be paying for the pin and shaker samples next week, so I should have a pretty steady stream of things to share with you over the next couple months, yay!
