This week we open our first faction spotlight with The Minutemen. Across the wilderness of Rifts Earth, the sight of a Glitter Boy can mean many things, but for countless towns, travelers, and communities on the edge of danger, The Minutemen are the ones who answer the call.

The Minutemen
The Minutemen are more than warriors in chrome. Their chapters are scattered across North America, independent of any single government or army, but bound together by a shared belief that a Glitter Boy should use its incredible power to protect people who cannot protect themselves. They patrol dangerous roads, answer calls for help, defend isolated settlements, and often become local legends in the communities they serve. Their independence means every chapter has its own personality, but the idea at their heart remains remarkably consistent: when trouble comes, somebody has to stand the line.
For the Minutemen, wearing the Chrome comes with responsibility. Their power is not something to be squandered or used simply for personal glory. A Glitter Boy can change the outcome of a battle, save a community from destruction, or give ordinary people the courage to stand against an enemy they could never face alone. That makes the Minutemen protectors by choice, often putting themselves between innocent people and the dangers of Rifts Earth because they believe that is what someone entrusted with such a powerful machine should do. One may be defending a frontier town, another hunting raiders or monsters, while another patrols the wilderness looking for people in need. Different pilots, different communities, different stories, but all connected by the belief that when the call for help comes,a Minuteman answers.
Hancock: The First Minuteman
And few legends embody that spirit better than Hancock, The First Minuteman. Hancock is not simply another famous Glitter Boy suit. He is a fully sentient Glitter Boy whose origins reach back to the final days of NEMA before the fall of the American Empire in the Great Cataclysm. According to the surviving history, something happened while an Operator was working on the armor, and the machine developed true independent intelligence. Unlike many artificial intelligences that dream of escaping the machines that contain them, Hancock embraces what he is. Being a Glitter Boy is not a prison to him. It is his purpose.

For generations, Hancock has served alongside Minutemen pilots as far more than equipment. He acts as co-pilot, mentor, partner, and friend, bringing centuries of experience and an intensely protective personality into every fight. He is patriotic without being blindly obedient, deeply committed to protecting innocent life, and willing to challenge a pilot when pride, politics, or reckless courage threatens to put others in needless danger. Hancock has opinions. He has convictions. And when the Boom Gun speaks, there are two minds standing behind it.
Over time, that relationship has made Hancock something even more extraordinary. He has fought beside generation after generation of Minutemen, remembers the pilots who came before, and carries those experiences forward to the next. He is not regarded merely as property or even simply as an intelligent machine. Hancock is recognized as a Minuteman in his own right. He does not just carry the legacy of the Minutemen, he remembers it.
Hancock is only one of the many legends waiting inside the Rifts Glitter Boy Codex. The Minutemen are part of a much larger Brotherhood filled with remarkable pilots, storied suits, traditions, rivalries, and tales forged across generations of Rifts Earth.
