Project Update: Shifters

Druid Circle: Circle of the Shifting Form (5E)

Druids of the Circle of the Shifting Form draw their power not by fully surrendering to transformation, but by holding themselves at the threshold, only adapting the parts they need. They learn to let the magic of the natural world flow through them in fragments. Hardening their skin like bark, coiling muscle like a serpent, or striking with the sudden precision of a hunting beast. This magic is not a single form, but a constant adjustment, guided by instinct and refined through practice. They don’t just turn on one animal, but on the properties of many at once.
In the world, these druids are often wanderers, scouts, and protectors who must respond to threats that change as quickly as the environments they guard. They are found at the edges of wild places, where adaptability is the difference between survival and eradication. Some act as wardens who defend their territories against encroaching dangers, while others serve as hunters of unnatural creatures, tracking and overcoming foes that cannot be faced with a single approach.
Within a group, a druid of the Shifting Form fills the role of a flexible front-line combatant and problem solver. They move between offense, defense, and mobility as the situation demands. By drawing out qualities of different beasts, they better respond to the many diverse threats they face.

Shifter (Druid) (PF2)

Some followers of primal way eschew focus on ancient words and motions in favor for more immediate ones born in flesh and bones. Shifters are druids that hone their entire body, and all it can be with primal magic, as the key solution to the many problems that life gives them.
Like other class archetypes, you can take this at first level, but must take the shifter dedication feat on reaching second level. You must also qualify for this feat (be a druid)

Prerequisites: You must be a druid.

Shifter Adjustments: Your spellcasting is bounded, causing you to gain far fewer slots at a time, like a magus or summoner.

Your skill at unarmed attacks becomes expert at 5th and master at 13th level.
Your proficiency with primal spellcasting increases to expert at 9th and master at 17th level.
Your proficiency with unarmored defense increases to expert at 11th and master at 17th level.
At level 5, gain critical specialization with unarmed attacks.
At level 13, gain weapon specialization.
At level 1, before you take the feat, you gain Deception as a trained skill. If you are already trained in Deception, become trained on one other skill of your choice. When initiative is rolled, you may, as a free action, use the Shift(shifter dedication) action.

You do not gain a druid circle. You are a shifter, and that's good enough.

A new subclass coming for two game systems to you! The shifter allows you to master your form instead of copying others.
